There's usually a significant queue. I quite enjoyed it, especially the soup, but maybe it's just I was hungry haha.
Was excited to try this, but it fell short of expectations. It was average at best, and nothing stood out. The mee hoon kway wasn’t clumpy, but it didn’t have that delicious handmade quality, and was a little too thin for my liking. Might go for the soup version next time, hopefully it’s better!
Comforting, almost like a grown-up Myojo Ramen Char Mee. And the soup is also excellent, so it’s the best of both worlds!
Yu Mian (Upsized to $5; normal portion: $4):
Yu mian was not overly cooked and have a nice bite to it. There is a natural sweetness to the soup broth. Ikan billis is quite crispy. The only downside is that the pork could be marinated alil more. Overall, its a very decent bowl of yu mian. Will definitely be back again!
Mee Hoon Kway or Ban Mian or different width of noodles, overall the food that you need when going for healthier choices? Yumms slurp..
PRICE: U-Mian soup $4, Ban Mian dry $4
WAITING TIME: More than 5 minutes on a weekday evening close to 8pm
(They have an efficient system where the lady walks down the line and gets the orders and payments first. Then we just continue waiting in line for the collection of orders.)
NOTES:
- Flavourful soup, 1 egg included
- Prefer the dry version. Very flavourful, slightly spicy
- Ban mian is the thicker wider meepok kind (prefer U-mian)
WILL WE RETURN? Yes
