More indulgent food because it was a birthday month - writing please keep up with the eating.
So I choose Fratelli as I was craving Pizzeria Mozzaās legendary āpiesā; also the family have not visited Sentosa in awhile.
Well aware I should manage my expectation as Mozzaās pizzas are hard to contend against, I found the pizzas here a better choice compared to their pastas. The formerās narrow thin crust makes it really easy and enjoyable to finish in full.
I was discombobulated when I had a spoon of gnocchi and ravioli, wondering if I was having cooked dough or pasta. I promised my brother weād try the potato gnocchi at Nassim Hillās one day to accustom his palate to what gnocchi should taste like.

Starter:
Insalata Mista - Mixed garden salad with Balsamic vinegar dressing. Very regular salad. Unfortunately comes with 2 things I absolutely dislike - raw celery & onions
Main:
Margherita - Tomato sauce, Buffalo mozzarella cheese, basil leaves. Decent pizza with crispy thin crust. Prefer the traditional wood fired ones with a chewy centre and crusty edges.
Dessert:
Crostada di Mele - Homemade apple tart
You have to order this seemingly simple dish when you're here. In celebrity chef brothers Enrico and Roberto Cerea rendition of Cacio e Pepe (meaning cheese and pepper), they've used the more traditional pecorino which was sharp, but the choice of milder sarawak black pepper balanced it perfectly.

But what was also amazing here is the chitarra pasta which has a square cross section for a unique bite. And making the pasta in-house allows Fratelli to create their desired texture, and indeed that pasta's texture was so good it caught me off-guard as I was expecting this to be just another pasta.

And oh yes.. There's also Spanish pork belly to top it off here. Just so many excellent components in this dish.

A must order for me here. The base is a white sauce pizza with garlic cream, pancetta, porcini and black truffle shavings. The scent of the truffles emanated from the pizza once it arrived as it was slightly heated when in contact with the pizza. The balance of flavors here was great and the textures too, with the pine nuts giving it a pleasant crunch. The blend of cheese was great too.
Tomato sauce pizza served with buffalo mozzarella, gorgonzola and chicory. This wasnāt supposed to be our order and only chose it as the eggplant pizza ran out. The pizza crust at Fratelliās is one of my favorites, chewy and yet has a nice charred crust. The ingredients on this pizza werenāt my favorite though, the chicory leaves had a bitter taste which was slightly overpowering and I couldnāt really taste the gorgonzola.
