Hence, to commemorate the upcoming festive period, Executive Chef Nicky Ng from Mitzo has launched a Festive Set Menu that will be available until 1 January 2021, which you can order, and have it delivered to the comfort of your home. This 6-course set menu is good for 2 persons and it comes with their signature Special Barbecued Pork, Deep Fried Prawns with Fermented Beancurd Mayonnaise, Double-boiled Pumpkin & Turkey Soup, Braised Miso Lamb Shank, Chilean Sea Bass with Wild Mushroom Sauce and Unagi & Seaweed Fried Rice. The festive set menu is priced at $148 without cocktails or $178 which comes with two portions of Purp Me Up Festive Cocktails.
The special barbecued pork is without a doubt one of Mitzo’s best dishes with the correct meat to fat ratio and the nicely caramelized top while the prawns that are coated in a fermented beancurd mayonnaise brings about a nice fusion of flavours. Continuing with the contemporary fusion of flavours, the lamb shank is steamed with ginger and Chinese wine before it gets braised in a bonito, dashi and miso mixture to remove the gaminess from the meat.

Black Truffle Crispy Roast Duck ($38); Half whole duck infused with a dose of black truffle, the meat was tender and juicy. Good to share between 3 to 4 pax.
XO Fried Crystal Vermicelli with Lobster Meat ($24); Extremely flavourful dish with huge chunks of lobster meat. The Wok Hei game here is definitely strong.
Mitzo Special Barbecued Pork ($18); Signature dish at this restaurant, where most people purpose is to try the BBQ pork here. The exterior was perfectly caramelised with the inner meat having the right ratio of meat to fats. Extremely addictive!
Thanks to my lovely wife @meilingsml for bringing me here! 😃
Honey glazed to perfection (small portioning but expected at a restaurant like mitzo!!)
In 2016, I had the following things to say about this char siew: "The skin of this amazing piggylicious delight must have been separated at birth from crème brûlée. I doodled a diagram in my notes whilst eating this - it was a circle labelled 'middle' within a box with area outside the circle shaded and labelled 'melts in mouth fats'." My comments remain applicable to this day.
Aside from the divine char siew treat, another benefit my Mitzo visit offered was 1000 KrisFlyer miles, courtesy of the ongoing Mileslife 5X Krisflyer Miles promotion by Mileslife (@mileslifesg) in conjunction with Singapore Airlines (@singaporeair). For the uninitiated, Mileslife is a mobile payment app which allows users to earn miles from both the app as well your linked credit card from every transaction with participating dining, retail and lifestyle merchants. Read more about Mileslife and the 5X Krisflyer Miles promotion on Secret Life of Fatbacks, link in bio etc.
⠀
Fun fact: if you use my referral code "LARVITAR" and then make a qualifying SGD$49 spend on the app, both of us get 1,000 miles each. Sharing is caring and free miles are, like warm cuddles, good for your health so there is simply no reason not to. (Unless, of course, you hate business class flights, well-rested eyes, horizontal laying and stretched out legs.)

Char siew is one of their signature here. It was really charred and comes in quite a small portion. What is different from this char siew as compared to the other is that the skin is really crispy and the meat is melt-in-your-mouth kind that you will not feel anything and yet the char siew is gone. What’s left in your mouth is the lingering char siew taste.
Caught by pleasant surprise was the thin crispy caramelized coating 😍 Mild sweetness tenderizing your tastebuds while you enjoyed the softness of the meat. Sadly a couple of the pieces were slightly hard to chew on the surface but overall still an enjoyable appetizer
😘
Crispy Roast Pork Belly ($18) - Not very ‘flattering’ for visual as they looked really flat 😂 But the skin was super crispy and I totally enjoyed its crispiness yet not oily offer
😘

You've never eaten a real charsiew before until you've eaten this - crisp honey glaze coats the outside, and the inner meat is juicy, tender and it all becomes a bite of heaven in your mouth.
