Yes, it is very different from normal Kaya. In fact you shouldn't rlly call this Kaya.
The texture is more like custard, but slightly less viscous. The taste is pretty mild, the only thing that comes thru at all is just the coconut, and overall it's very creamy
Tbh if you like your normal Kaya, this is not worth a try. 15bucks for a small jar of watery custard... The taste is really nothing too impressive
The gula melaka blobs made the entire chiffon abit more custardy, however I didn't think it's that much more spectacular. The gula melaka was quite faint. My brother enjoyed it very much though, maybe it's personal preference
It's still good the next day if you let it come to room temp
The display one is hard on the exposed surfaces and so quite unpleasant
The interior was fine tho, quite normal nothing special
Their strawberry jam is made with almost 500g of real strawberries, and there's so much strawberry pulp in it, although I wouldn't say I'm a fan of the flavour here.
This was another chiffon cake that had the exact same soft, fluffy, spongey, moist texture I really loved. The strawberry flavour was light and fragrant I loved how you could literally smell the strawberry when you first open the box.
This was prob one of the best-tasting Kaya I've had, although it's very different from the usual kayas with a more "watery" consistency, as this was more like Kaya Custard. But I really loved the flavour as it reminded a lot like the pandan custard you get from good Kueh Salats, with good fragrance and flavour, without being too sweet.
