I had high hopes for this but the coffee flavour was very mild and the only saving grace was that it's topped full of chocolates

Ordered takeaway from Cafe 2000 at M Hotel. Serving size was huge. Must not miss the Fish & Chips and Aloha Hawaii Pizza.

High tea set ($44.73 for 2 pax, inclusive of GST & service charge)

Got this high tea set for 2 pax deal off Eatigo since it wasn’t available on Burpple. Went there as a treat to my mum, so was a little disappointed when they served the food in a different plating as the one shown in their photos, cos my mum preferred the advertised one.

It was a not bad experience since it was my first high tea ever. The food was alright and they gave 2 huge pies that totally fill your tummy before the smaller cakes and stuff even arrive. But they’re not great, not horrible either, just normal.

Drinks were not included so we had to purchase separately, even though it’s just tea bags. Plus you can only refill once.

No view either, nor did it feel very much like a high tea. Just a normal restaurant with high tea plating.

Was a good deal for this first time, but definitely not worth it at its original price (which would’ve been $70-$80+ for 2 pax!!). I wouldn’t go back for this again lol.

Ordered this from Cafe 2000. It’s their signature, along with chocolate which I plan to try next time. This cheesecake was indeed delicious. Cheese was thick and rich but not too jelat. I finished 1/4 no problem. Really liked the biscuit crust at the bottom. The cream on top was light and refreshing, didn’t add on to the heaviness as I feared. Very good cheesecake worth indulging.

This was supposed to have truffle oil but I didn’t detect any. Nevertheless it was very enjoyable. There was a variety of mushrooms and plentiful too. Perfectly seasoned, with lots of garlic as well.

This had the chef’s recommendation hat but it was really very mediocre. Beef was alright. More slices than steak actually. Slight wok hei. Sliced green chili was the default condiment. I asked for Sambal chili, which I thot went quite well with the horfun. Egg gravy was ok. Super huge bowl, I couldn’t finish.

Most people would love a sumptuous meal at a hotel buffet during the festive season, for the spread would include things like roast turkey, roasted beef and other festive delicacies like fruit cake and stuff.

But these were just one part of what M Hotel’s Café 2000 had to offer in their Festive Seafood Extravaganza Buffet, available from 24 November to 30 December 2019. Having the table reservation through Eatigo, two persons could get up to 50% discount to the usual price of S$78.00 per pax. Much of the items there would include seafood, but I also saw many people swarming the buffet line for satays and other meat items. And then, I realised that it was actually very gratifying to scoop lots of Durian Pengat into a coffee mug, and eat it like a boss.

While it might be quite a value-for-money thing to book a table via Eatigo, I was a bit turned off by the way the diners wiped out the more popular items by forming mountains of food on their own plate. As much as food was replenished quite promptly, it could only mean that one would either need to stay vigilant to watch what was being topped up from afar, or that he would just have to approach the buffet line like a typical “kiasu” Singaporean. And because the restaurant appeared to be fully booked, the crowd could have taken away any peace and quiet ambience if that was to be expected.

Enjoyed their Angus sirloin very much previously so decided on the ribeye thou it was $4 more. Requested for well done and it wasn’t tough. Still juicy, with pockets of fats which provided lots of flavor.

This was chef recommended and it was indeed very good. Nice wok hei and the stock used to fry the noodles was flavorful and robust. I counted 5 prawns and 2 slices of sotong. Also got pork belly slices. I slurped this down in record time.

Not fantastic.... Average for hotel standard.
We had Steak, asked for medium rare, it arrived medium well and seabass was ok.
The semi buffet was really simple.
Cream of pea soup was not hot and lack of taste. Chinese soup is better. 2 types of salad, some 🍰 ice cream and durian puree. There was oso a small chocolate dip with apples, starfruits and marshmallow.

I wanted it well done and it was. I was surprised by how juicy it still was. But bcos it came on a hot plate, it kept getting more done as I ate and ended up a bit tough towards the end. But I really liked it. I chose traditional beef gravy for the sauce. It was very good. Complemented the beef well without covering up the taste of the meat. Seasonal vege and potato jacket with sour cream and bacon bits completed this meal.

This originally came with goose liver, which I absolutely abhor due to the despicable practice of force-feeding geese. I asked for it to be excluded and they replaced it with more vege. The cod looked really small, but it was fresh. I only wished the pan fried crispy parts were more. I liked the sauce, which was a tangy savory miso. But the sauce was so little. The cod rested on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, which had chunks of potatoes inside for extra bite and texture. Overall not really my style.

2nd time trying items from their Ala carte menu. Again, I ordered the beef burger. Loved the egg. Runny yolk and firm egg white. Beef patty was well done, just the way I like it. The bun was warm and fluffy and combined together, the overall taste was well balanced. I enjoyed it very much. Last time I tried the grilled shrooms pasta, which was fabulous. They were generous with the mushrooms so I felt I got my money's worth. This time I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken. It came covered with pineapples and resting on a bed of salad greens. Chicken thigh was very tender and thick with the smoky aroma of BBQ. The sauce was very Thai, sweet sour and a little spicy, with a hint of spices. Greens were extremely fresh, cold and crunchy. I usually dislike salad, but I ate half of it. I didn't expect to like it this much.
