[TANJONG PAGAR, SINGAPORE] Finally ticked this cafe @butter_tgt off my list and it was pretty impressive! Food and drinks ordered were all pretty good 😍

Let's start off with their drinks! The Iced Latte ☕ ($7) was such a joy to have, as it was creamy, thick, rich and so full of chocolate and nutty notes which I love! It was also a smooth blend that went down my throat easily. The Lemon Eispanner ☕ ($9) was quite expensive, but it was still a good drink, with a much lighter blend. To be honest I think the aromatic lemon syrup might have overpowered the coffee, but it was still a good option if you don't like strong coffees! Definitely a light refreshing drink to have.

I couldn't leave their place without trying their Madeleine 🥐 ($7.50 for 3) and indeed it was a wonderful bake. They were smart to make it a made-to- order item, as the crispy buttery crust was so heavenly. It wasn't too sweet either and complemented the strong Iced Latte so well. Such a great mouth feel and flavour!

Definitely recommended for those who haven't tried! Worthy of a 2nd visit as well 😍

No reservation, its disgusting cos their seating space is limited (it's fully seated on a weekday afternoon)

The rim was crunchy but it wasn't the whole exterior that's crunchy. Centre was eggy

It's a decent version, but not worth the risk of having no seats when it's such a frigging hot place with no common area w Aircon nearby

Loving the quaint and cosy space, I also really enjoyed their Matcha ($8) - made with Kiku ceremonial matcha by Niko Neko Matcha. Wonderfully balanced, smooth, earthy, pleasantly sweet, and not too milky. And the concoction went superbly with their baked-to-order Madeleines ($7.50/ set of 3). Fluffy-moist in the middle and surprisingly crunchy on their exterior, the warm petite sponge cakes held up nicely when dipped into the Matcha. The rich eggy fragrance and buttery aroma added to their whole appeal as well.

It might very well be my new favourite cafe. Though the menu is pretty concise, butter tgt’s bakes were right up my alley (at least those that I have tried). Here for brunch, I got their Avocado Toast ($12) which came with sliced avocado, house-made garlic butter, lemon wedge, and sourdough. The toasted bread was not overly dense or tangy/sour which I personally prefer. It was of the softer variant and the crusty edges were pretty crisp yet not-too-tough. A tad pricey for what it essentially is (Who am I kidding? Inflation is real) but I liked the generous amount of perfectly ripe avocado, and the garlic butter was delicious (hope they start making scrambled eggs then ugh it will be an amazing combo).

Had a morning brekkie at the newest cafe to the Duxton Enclave 💗butter tgt by @youkneadcakes (homebaker on IG) opened at 76A Duxton Road right opposite Rappu hidden on 2nd floor behind a butter yellow door ☺️
…
simple menu with cosy aesthetics , reminds me closely of Ceres Haus or Dawn Kissa - each with their own signature bakes 👩‍🍳 For Butter Tgt, go for their cookies and pound cakes 💯
‼️ go early before the crowd to get the best window side seats and choice of bakes before they run out 😂

The White was medium-bodied and slightly acidic while the Iced Dirty Matcha definitely used good quality matcha powder. In one sip, I could taste the matcha that was full of earthy flavour. It was deliciously smooth, slightly creamy and bittersweet. The only rant is that the espresso taste was barely detectable.
