The sauce is sublime. It's quite sweet, very intense, and there's a strong fruitiness to it. Not sure how they achieved it, but it's miles ahead of your average tomato sauce
Worth a try if you're nearby
The oxtail is extremely tender. The sauce is meh tho, it's not umami enough nor thick enough, abit too sweet
Overall a good version, but the place is damn ulu so it's really not worth the journey under the sun at all
A variety of ingredients (cabbage, vermicelli, soft beancurd skin, fried tau kwa, black fungus, carrot, leek) that are well-cooked to soft; simple & comforting dish that taste homely..
Meat is slightly dry though acceptable; rosemary sauce taste quite light & not overpowering the meat taste; wedges are served crispy yet not oily; came with similar greens as pork combo..
Pork served in 3 way: Grilled duroc pork chop, hainanese style breaded pork chop & pork sausage; Hainanese style breaded pork chop is the best among all; meat is lean & tender, thinly battered & deep-fried to crispy outside while retaining the moisture inside; drizzled with tangy tomato sauce; On the other hand, grilled pork chop is lean but quite tough to chew, drizzled with BBQ mustard sauce; pork sausage is big & juicy though tasted nothing special; came with fresh crunchy greens drizzled with homemade sauce which has strong minty taste which remind me of toothpaste though; fries are crispy yet not oily..
Signature dish of this eatery; meat is very tender & fell off the bones; love the jelly-like soft bone/marrow/ligament; sauce is very flavorful & rich with beef taste; carrot, potatoes & celery are cooked to soft; came with 3 slices of baguette that is fluffy & soft; well-executed & satisfying dish worth a try; best for sharing as portion is huge..
