The Signature lamb shank is good value and tasty. It is braised in a savoury sauce for about 2 hours such that the meat remains tender and literally falls off the bone. Like everything you'll see here, do you know there's truffle mash potato hidden beneath the sauce? It's not even listed on the menu! The soft truffle mash potato tasted so good with the savoury sauce! .

And somehow this affogato blew my mind! The espresso was really good with its intense aroma and strong flavour yet not too acidic. Possibly my favourite affogato — thanks to the superb espresso! — in the whole Singapore, and it is the epitome of simple dishes with great quality of ingredients. Not to mention, the restaurant also has a super laid back ambience, perfect for chilling with your buddies at night!

For those of you who missed the Festival for Good a few days ago, you can still show your support by dining at different social enterprises, where one of them is none other than Bliss Restaurant and Cafe. Besides restaurants and cafes, they also work in the food catering industry (an option for your next office event or house party, perhaps?). Offering their job vacancies to people with physical and mental disabilities as well as ex-offenders, Bliss Group believes that no one should be discriminated against and denied any job opportunity.

For the month of August, you can get a complimentary glass of wine with any steak purchase at Bliss Restaurant and Café (Chengsan Community Club) while diners can enjoy a 50% discount for all drinks at Bliss's Academia (SGH Outlet). Be #partofthegood :)

Thank you @bliss_restaurant for the warm hospitality, @raiSEsg for the insights about social enterprises, and @burpple for extending the invite ☺️

#FestivalForGood is happening on 20th and 21st August, and is Singapore's first ever festival put together to celebrate and raise awareness of social enterprises! Social enterprises are unlike usual businesses as they work towards furthering their social cause and mission in a financially sustainable way. Bliss Restaurant, 1 of the 8 partners for #DineForGood, has its business centered around inclusivity and empowerment through providing employment opportunities for all individuals without discrimination.

Apart from a variety of affordable western grub, you'll find several attractive desserts on their menu. This Durian Pengat is basically a huge scoop of unadulterated durian pulp drizzled with coconut cream ❗️ Just one word, shiok. Best option for when you're lazy to do anything but still want to enjoy that sweet and creamy king of fruits.

Your support to these social enterprises goes a long way and means a lot to them. Be #partofthegood simply by dining in! 🍴 In the month of August at Bliss Restaurant (in Cheng San Ang Mo Kio), spoil yourself with a complimentary glass of wine with any steak purchase. Also, enjoy a 50% discount off all beverages when you dine at their SGH outlet, Academia. Download the dining coupons and find more details of the festival at www.festivalforgood.sg!

One memorable dish of the night for me was this Norwegian Salmon with Miso Mayo Sauce. Pairing of the salty-sweet sauce worked incredibly well with the moist tender salmon, but the star of it all was that extremely buttery, fluffy and smooth mash hidden under. Dishes in Bliss are quite customizable, apart from the Miso Mayo Sauce here, choose from Black Pepper, Mushroom or even Chilli Crab! 😋

Bliss Restaurant is not just another Western restaurant. It's an encapsulation of what a social enterprise in Singapore ought to be — providing employment opportunities to all without discrimination, donating groceries to the needy through Aljunied GRC and even reducing its own carbon footprint by using biodegradable disposal corn ware for catering services, all while dishing out tasty and very cost efficient food. Located within the grounds of Cheng San Community Club, Bliss Restaurant serves a variety of Western grub mostly under $20 — perfect for cash-strapped days! Start with the Skinful Chicken ($6) — thin slices of crackly, crispy chicken skin that you won't be able to stop snacking on once you start popping them into your mouth. For mains, order the crowd favourite Smoked Duck Aglio Olio ($14) and the Gratin Sirloin Steak ($17) — the latter comes with baby potatoes on the side and a slice of gooey, melted cheddar cheese blanketing the meat.

Heng that this bowl of addictive fried chicken skins was placed slightly further away from me or else I would have snatched it and kept it all for myself HAHAHA. One of the signature finger foods here in Bliss Restaurant, these crispy thin chicken skins were not just well seasoned but fried perfectly. If only this could be kept in bottles as snacks, I'll take them all!
