The chicken was lovely, both in taste and in looks. Quite a flawless plate. And even with the thigh cut, only $3. Strong chilli too.
Q an ulu place, so the price was vv affordable.
Char siew had a nice smokiness despite it being slighty dry, due to the lean cut. Roast Chicken wasnt thaaat bad, but it pales in comparison to the steamed Chicken.
The steamed Chicken had a superb and unique texture, with the meat almost bouncy and the skin was so translucent and jelly like. Really well cooked and definitely worth a try, definitely the least chicken-tasting Hainanese Ckn I've had, in the best way
The taste is okay. The portion of chicken is quite a lot for only $3.
introducing 猪头, 猪耳皮 at the side; good "lor" and braised comfortably to retain a soft bite, this plate of pork stole some limelight from the chicken i must say.
This may not be worth travelling across Singapore for, but for those who live or work in Jurong West, expect a true bargain for chicken rice at what Tastemaker Fabian Poon says is the area's best kept secret. Tastemaker Emily S paid only $7.50 for a generous set of steamed and roasted chicken rice for two, and the steamed chicken had her waxing lyrical about how tender and silky smooth it is. The sauces, especially the chilli, are great too. If you're in a large group, take Tastemaker Fabian's lead and order one whole chicken (get a combination of steamed and roasted for variety) along with a side of roast pork belly and char siew to share. What will comfortably feed a gang of eight will only set you back $31 — what a steal!
Avg Price: $5 per person

Exploring the far west earlier in the month with the #BurppleTastemakers, our first order of business led us to A&I Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice for breakfast. An awesome find, our generous 2-person portion with a mix of steamed and roasted chicken was both surprisingly tender.
However, if I had to pick a favourite, the steamed chicken wins hands down as the roasted chicken lacked a little oomph in terms of seasoning and texture. Enjoying mine with tons of black sauce, the steamed white flesh was wonderfully smooth and I couldn’t resist chomping down on the glossy skin with that nice layer of gelatin just underneath. Most importantly it was boneless.
The rice was worth mentioning too as it was fragrant, not overly cloying yet holds a good amount of flavours in each grain. Noted with a constant queue, the store operates from 6AM - 3PM daily so go down early for a good breakfast or brunch.
