We got the Speculoos Apple pie and the Pineapple Cheesecake flavours - both in which we didnât really like at all, unfortunately. They were Gourmet flavours so that was an additional $1.20 x2, which doesnât count in the Burpple 1-for-1 deal of course. Almost all of the flavours here were either Premium (+$1) or Gourmet (+$1.20).
The textures of the ice creams werenât creamy at all which made the ice cream enthusiast in me sad. Speculoos Apple Pie had a very dry mouthfeel and tasted one dimensionally cinnamon-y. The Pineapple Cheesecake had an airy texture, similar to half melted whipped cream, and the dried pineapple bits inside were way too sweet. There were also chunks of what seemed like cheesecake but felt like sweet uncooked batter that stuck to our teeth a bit too much.
Perhaps we chose the flavours wrongly - we were simply excited to try some interesting mixes and creations. I think the flavours here all seemed really creative and innovative (there was even kueh bang kit, how cool is that!?) but perhaps the execution will require a bit more fine tuning. I believe that the texture and mouthfeel of ice cream is very crucial and sets apart the good ice cream parlours from the average ones - you could have a simple flavour but still win the hearts of customers if the mouthfeel is on point.
We visited on a weekday evening and the cafe was about half full. The interior of the cafe is cutely decorated, making the place a pleasant spot to chill with friends if you arenât too fussed about the ice cream. The Burpple 1-for-1 deal makes the price a little more reasonable though be ready to pay extra as most flavours are premium/gourmet requiring additional top ups.
The dumpling skin was so soft and silky, and the meat fillings so juicy and fragrant! Along with the slight spiciness of the chilli oil and sourness from the vinegar, this dish made my tastebuds very happy. It effectively fulfilled both my dumpling and spicy food cravings at once.
We visited on an early evening on Sunday, which was slightly before the peak dinner crowd. Waited about 30 minutes for this, which was acceptable I guess. Any longer would probably be a no for me. There isnât any sort of automated queue system so you would have to stand to queue until you reach your turn to place an order.
This plate of char kway teow is surprisingly âhealthyâ tasting..? The flavours werenât heavy on the lard. It wasnât very salty or oily either, though you can still taste the wok hey. I guess you sacrifice tastiness for healthy eating - though I think I still prefer my char kway teow much more flavourful and unavoidably more unhealthy. After all, it is a sinful dish to begin with, so why not indulge yourself while youâre at it?
We visited on a Sunday in the early evening (slightly before the peak dinner crowd) and there wasnât too much of a queue or wait which was honestly the biggest draw for us!
Do you like fried mantou? Do you like xiao long bao? If your answer is yes to both, then you absolutely must try these fried buns. I loved that the outside of the bun is slightly crisp, and the bottom is pan fried till golden. Better yet - the bun still retains its softness on the inside. I also thought that the sesame seeds on top really added a great fragrance to the pastry. And of course we have the tasty broth that oozes out when you bite through the bao. Overall a very satisfying dish!
We visited on an early evening on Sunday, which was slightly before the peak dinner crowd. I enjoyed the buns very much however the 70 minute wait was a little too long for my liking. Iâm happy that I tried it but I donât think I would wait 70 minutes for buns again. It helps that the store provides you the automatic queue beepers that sound and vibrate whenever the food is ready, so at least we could find some seats to sit down while waiting.
Soft, springy and chewy mochi snowballs, thatâs the size of your palm! The texture is super squishy and cute, I enjoyed its mouthfeel as it has a good balance of chewiness and stickiness. I wish it didnât come in these cupcake paper cups as the mochi tends to stick to the corners a little, but I think the mochi would be too difficult to pick up otherwise since itâs so soft.
The snowball mochi has different fillings, from classic flavours such as chocolate or strawberry, to more interesting and uncommon flavours such as dragonfruit, kiwi, or even durian. We got the mango and grape flavours, which had mochi on the outside and fresh cream + fresh fruit pieces on the inside. Quite refreshing and satisfying to eat, slightly on the sweeter side but thatâs up my sweet tooth alley! The grape mochi was slightly uncooked at the bottom, thatâs my only issue with it.
The place is a takeaway shop though thereâs a tiny stool at the corner of the store. We visited on a weekday evening. They had a few bakery items on display but not all the flavours of mochi were readily available - you had to wait for them to make it for you if you wanted something else. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Not your standard chai latte - the spices were strong in this one, would recommend for those who find the typical western chai lattes too milky or spices muted, because this cuppa was a kick of spices and aromas. I enjoyed it, it was a perfect wake-me-up (but without caffeine) to a slow morning for me.
Visited on a Saturday morning and the place was quite busy and bustling, fortunately we managed to get a seat for two. Service was standard and they served our drinks pretty quickly which was much appreciated!
Your typical latte but with the fragrance of lavender. Coffee was standard but the lavender made it quite unique - it was an interesting coming together of the aromas. The dried lavender bits can be quite strong so you may want to avoid actually chewing into them if youâre not a fan of strong aromas. I wouldnât get this again but it was interesting to try.
Visited on an afternoon of a Public Holiday and the cafe was not too busy, had some seats available for my friend and I. Staff were friendly.
A really good cheeseburger - but in a sandwich! Why have burger buns when you can have grilled cheese sourdough? The Blackmore wagyu patty was juicy, very tasty with the pastrami jam, garlic aioli and cucumber pickles. Very classic cheeseburger ingredients and executed well in this sandwich. Overall a good sandwich, slightly pricey but it was delicious so Iâll take that.
Visited on a public holiday and at 11am, their tater tots were already out of stock! This eliminated many of their breakfast options, sadly. Would return again earlier to try their other options.
So glad my friend and I shared the sandwiches at this place, because they are really generous with the meat! The smoked pastrami brisket was just overflowing in between the slices of caraway rye sourdough toast, it wasnât too salty on its own but the sheer amount of it in the sandwich made it quite so, along with the provolone cheese. Fortunately there was sauerkraut and Russian dressing to cut through the salty and savoury notes.
Overall a very tasty sandwich, would recommend to share otherwise the pastrami brisket can get quite overwhelming. Slightly pricey for a sandwich, but the amount of meat and tastiness of the dish kinda makes up for its price.

Quite fragrant tea, the cane roast didnât really shine through as much as I hoped but it was still a pretty alright cup of milk tea.
We used the 1-for-1 Burpple Beyond deal so this drink was a lot more affordable - do take a look at the Beyond dealâs notes as the 1-for-1 only applies to specific drinks of Large size.
Thereâs a reasonably sized seating area outside of the bubble tea shop, which is great as most bbt shops are takeaway only.
Thin and crispy house bacon with bacon jam, accompanied by two fried eggs and tomato relish. Placing everything delicious about a breakfast in between two crunchy slices of toast. Bacon fans will rejoice!
Enjoy this for 30% off with the Burpple Beyond deal, making this sumptuous breakfast kinder to your wallet.
We visited on a Saturday morning and it was crowded, filled with large groups of cyclists. Would recommend coming earlier to avoid queues and crowds!
Our familiar local coffeeshop kopi - but angmoh style! Stuck to the usual ingredients of nanyang coffee with condensed milk, but spiced it up with salt and pepper. Brew was rich and smooth, surprisingly not too sweet even though we got it at its default sweetness option. Tasted similar to Kopi but had the texture of western lattes. The latte art was super cool.
Not really sure what the salt and pepper were there for, is that supposed to represent Singapore? đ¤ Most of the pepper ended up at the bottom of our cup, so we didnât drink the last part of the latte, it being way too spicy for us.
Cafe was nice and spacious, staff were friendly too. There was a water dispenser where you could help yourself to plain water, which was nice. We visited on a public holiday and the place was almost full!
