First of all, wishing everyone a prosperous and heathy new year ahead! 🥂🎉🥳
Two back-to-back feasts with my friends. Eve was with Hitoyoshi’s Yusheng ($38.80++), Fragrance’ Bak Kwa, and other Chinese-inspired homecooked Filipino dishes
Tbh, haven’t had a good amount of exposure on yushengs but Hitoyoshi’s wasn’t too bad. It was arranged beautifully with fresh ingredients (incl the 16 pcs of salmon)
Priced at SGD15.90, this was surprisingly yummy and satisfying! Slathered with the right amount of torched mentaiko sauce, each mouthful had a well-balanced flavour, without having the mentaiko sauce singlehandedly overwhelm every other component.
Their Yoshi Maki Bomb (SGD22.80) was pretty good too but slightly on the pricier side…
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

they say feeds 3-4 but more like 2 people, max 3 if you’re small girl eaters. but it rly is quite huge and substantial and the quality is pretty good. it’s $39.80 if i’m not wrong! worth a try. fresh & very good addition of tempura flakes on the bed of chirashi to give it extra crunch and flavour.
Giant chirashi don ($39.90) 🍛 7/10
Doesn't a huge bowl of colourful fresh fish put a smile on your face? This beauty is supposed to be shared between 3-4 people but my gluttony got the best of me and ate it with just 1 other.
There was so much salmon, tuna, swordfish and even bits of scallops layered over the warm rice that helped to bring out each spoonful's flavour. What a feast!
First time eating such a big bowl of chirashi don; generous portion of big sized raw fish cubes on top of a well-cooked bed of fluffy pearl rice; salmon, tuna, swordfish, scallop, ikura, tobiko, tamago, cucumber, seaweed, tempura flakes etc.; ingredients are very fresh and firm, no fishy taste; good for 2 to 3 pax (by right for 3 to 4 pax); rice to ingredients ratio is 40:60; love the wasabi at the side that is very fresh and strong..
Not kidding when they label it giant chirashi on the menu. A humongous portion of raw fish - salmon, swordfish, tuna with some tomato and cucumbers for the visuals - piled onto a (thankfully) thin bed of rice. They're running a promotion at the new central outlet - check out J passport ;)
