Chicken and breast meat were all moist and tender, which tells me they poach their chickens well. The sauce was also flavourful and the rice was nicely fragrant and cooked just right. The chilli is generic chicken rice chilli but ITβS A GOOD THING because some places have rly bad chilli. This place was more gingery than spicy but I canβt complain. Overall a really decent plate of chicken rice!
Dapao-ed this when I went to eat the famous Yishun Laksa long ago. Quite a good alternative if you don't feel like queueing for laksa.
I love that they include achar on the side. The rice is also incredibly fragrant, with lots of visible ginger shavings and shallots. The chicken was probably the weakest part of the dish. It doesn't come with skin (for all you chicken skin-lovers) and was slightly dry for my liking. Overall, very value-for-money and tasty, but I would only have this if I'm in the area.
Price: $3 or $4 (this is the $3 portion)

This is Yishun's famous chicken rice and it's now also one of my favorite chicken rice stall.

I love the tender chicken with silky smooth skin that's drenched in flavourful and fragrant soya sauce. The chicken feet is a must-order, it had been deboned leaving only the soft skin that came with slight crunch. Dipped that in the same gravy that came with the chicken, and enjoy its texture.

Rice was also fragrant. If I've to pick on something, it would be the chilli that wasn't thick and garlicky enough for me. The chicken and the feet is the main draw for me, so I would be a regular here.
Pretty much what you would except from a good plate of chicken rice haha though the rice here tastes harder than elsewhere, feels like they have been stir fried in wok after steaming. #burpple
Extremely smooth skin over tender, flavourful meat β even the breast meat is chockful of flavour and not the slightest bit dry. Love the "sauce" that is drizzled over the chicken...soy sauce, a touch of sesame oil and the chicken fat β most importantly, it's not overly salty. Each grain is still whole and not sticky unlike most places which tend to overcook it. Never excessively oily. Ok, that's all.
Smooth, succulent, and delicious. That's how I would describe their chicken rice. The rice is well made, and well balanced. On its own, the rice is flavourful, and not drying, with hint of chicken oil, and garlic. The chicken were so juicy, that the breast meat tasted exactly like the the chicken thigh or legs. There simply no need to fight for the best part, as everything is just as good. And nothing is complete, without the innards of the chicken, liver and gizzard, giving it a different texture and dimension in your mouth.
