Clockwise from top left:
Pig Trotter (M size) $17
Xing Hua Fried Bee Hoon (M size) $12.80
Yang Zhou Fried Rice (M size) $11
Spinach w Superior Stock (M size) $14
Crispy Fried Yam (M size) $17
Sauteed Pork Rib (M size) $26
Standouts were the pig trotters and fried bee hoon - these passed the standards for any teochew restaurant. Fried rice and spinach were average. First time trying fried Yam so don't quite know what the standard is, but these had a nice crunch and a fluffy interior with a nice sweet glaze (which made it seem more like a dessert). Finally, the pork ribs were just disappointing for its outlandish price, and the fact that the waitress recommended us to add this to our order made it worse.
Overall, spent about $110 for 5 pax incl tea and sides - not too bad but not that satisfying a meal either in terms of quality.
Lunch set C@$10.50
Comes with 2 Har Cheong gai chicken and a chrysanthemum tea.
The Mee sua quite bland, but the chilli they provided is so flavourful.
Har cheong gai very good and crispy.
It had all the necessary parts and the beehoon, usually the deal-breaker, was fine. The only problem was the supposedly crispy seaweed was inedible plastic.
$5.50
Portion quite small.
Goes well with the chilli provided.
Quite plain without it.
This is my must have item when I come here. The first time I ate this, it gave me the inspiration to do the same for my fried rice with fried seaweed and peanuts.
This item is a must have at this restaurant!!
The small portion isnβt enough for most people so get the medium π
I always love this item, the veggies are nice and tender with the right amount of crunch not overly cooked. It is a small restaurant so itβs only known by those who know of it. Itβs a hidden gem, value for money place with home style cooking.
Ordered their signature main of Braised Lor Mee ($6) and I understood why my colleagues always order this same dish every single time!
The seafood broth was flavourful and did not leave me thirsty, with generous servings of fresh prawns, pork and clams. I asked for my noodles to be undercooked and they delivered, with a warm smile.
Also tried their Fried Mee Sua ($5.50) previously, and it's been the only eatery I order mee sua at (not a fan of the noodle type, ever). Be sure to have the noodles with the chili; the zing is oomph. Prices are nett, service is genuine, food is awesome. Defo coming back again!
Ordered lor mee ($6), mee sua ($5.50) and sweet and sour pork with lychee ($9). No-frills place which was very affordable. Lor mee and mee sua was not bad, but paled in comparison to putien's renditions of the dishes. The pork dish unfortunately had too much vinegar for us. May come back if nearby!
Xing Hua Mee Sua (S$5)
The noodles was moist and flavourful, without sticking together.

Braised noodle, $6 individual serving, Egg plant with pork floss and Sweet & sour lychee pork. Will be back again!
Not quite savoury nor sweet and the crust got stuck to the back of my front teeth. D< Maybe xing hua style is like that?
Was craving for xing hua cuisine, so I decided to come here. The lor mee was pretty decent. The uniqueness of xing hua cuisine (to me) is that the same standard seafood stock is used for all types of noodles(or rice cakes)whether it's fried or soup. I really like the beancurd skin in the beancurd skin w Kai kan though. It's not bad here though still not up to the standard of my favourite one(that used to be at golden mile and has since disappeared)
