๐Ÿ”ธ Mini Red Wine Longan SGD16.8

Passed by @wupaochunsg ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ flagship store in Capitol Singapore after service and my mom (who is visiting now) was super excited cuz she never got a chance to try this popular ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ bakery back in Taiwan ๐Ÿ˜…

Walking through the ๐Ÿž shaped door (kinda looks like cheese though) made me feel like a kid in a candy shop ๐ŸฌThe interior is super spacious and has all sorts of bread galore!

I was quite amazed by the wide variety of unique bakes inspired by local Asian culture, but we finally settled on their best-seller back in Taiwan - a loaf of red wine longan bread which boasts a world champion award from Paris ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

This is probably the most expensive bread that Iโ€™ve ever bought (you can probably get 3-4 meals at the hawker centre), but the portion and quality definitely justifies the hefty price tag ๐Ÿ’ธ

The texture itself was quite firm and chewy, but it was the quirky taste of sweet longan mixed with astringent red wine that ultimately won me over ๐Ÿท

๐Ÿ’กTip: If you canโ€™t finish the bread within 2-3 days, just put the remaining slices in the freezer and you can store them for up to 2 weeks ๐Ÿ˜‰

The bread smells v fermenty, a rather unique scent - presumably bc of the wine-soaked dried longan smoked using an ancient technique (according to WPC). The longan has a nice dark fermented flavour, not super juicy but not dry either. Bread is chewy and soft w a soft crust and crunchy walnuts. Texture is a but like a European bread? Gives me some Duke/Gokoku vibes. Also liked that there was a p generous amount of dried longan & walnuts, with at least 1 of either in every bite. Was q an enjoyable loaf.

The Ah-Pollo is another hot favourite, especially with that milky custard filling with buttery & milky flavours. ๐ŸŒŸ Enjoyed this bun for breakfast!

Love their buns but my bias would be the Sesame Joy ๐Ÿ–ค & Nutty Together ๐Ÿฅœ for their earthy & nutty aroma encased in the soft fluffy buns! Reminds me of glutinous rice balls! ๐Ÿ˜‹
