Shun Mee Hoon Kueh at Upper Boon Keng Market serves a traditional mee hoon kueh that is delightfully authentic and satisfying.
The dish comes alive as you stir it, allowing the rich flavours to meld beautifully.
It features thinly sliced pork belly and succulent prawns, which add a luxurious touch of protein.
The addition of egg omelette, crispy fried anchovies, and fresh green vegetables introduces an excellent variety of textures that complement the perfectly kneaded dough.
This mee hoon kueh is a comforting bowl full of flavour and texture, making it well worth a try for anyone seeking a taste of tradition with quality ingredients.
$6 per bowl.

The roasted chicken rice from Uncle Chew Chicken Rice at Upper Boon Keng Market offers a satisfying portion for just $3.50.
The chicken is well-roasted and pairs excellently with the flavourful rice, complemented by a side of cabbage soup.
Definitely worth the queue and a return visit!

A plate of beautifully chaotic flavours served from a chaotic looking stall.

This dish cooked plate by plate per order is simply delectable.

Saw this fish soup stall with a queue and I was impressed with their fish soup ($6)!

The soup is actually quite light on flavour and has the elements from not only the vegetables cooked in it, but the fish broth as well. Definitely not the very flavourful kind of soup, but it is comforting. The star of the show have to be their generous fish slices, which were really fresh and meaty! You can also really taste the sweetness of the fish. A very humble yet delicious fish soup that I can see myself coming back again for!
