The Skewer Bar is behind some creative dishes on their menu at super worth it prices. This set B ft. unagi, chicken karaage, shiitake mushroom, onsen egg and two chicken yakitori is so well executed and full of umami (~$10). Give their stuffed taupok with cheese a try too!

Been wanting to support The Skewers Bar, and it's always booked out. Support them by checking out their online ordering form (check their ig handle: theskewerbar)

The weekends have been so enjoyable as of late #1, with time to roam Geylang on a Saturday evening to hunt for food (not advisable to do alone as a female). The Skewer Bar was my take out choice for my birthday this year aka when our nation went into circuit breaker mode, so to be able to dine in at the restaurant-bar this time round was something to be thankful about. The ability to plow through a menu, discover new items in successful rounds of orders- choosing to add on and having the liberty to order again was something we did not appreciate before.

TSB delivered just like they did as a takeout option- some of the items Iā€™d return for was this piping hot grilled eggplant with kick ass chilli; tender grilled squid and the shishamo - oh that glorious beads of egg roe within and a crisp exterior.

Four types of eggs = four types of cholestrol? This is absolutely eggy. A good table snack to have! Sharing a chawanmushi is always interesting. Everyone has to use that same teaspoon.

Came for the skewers...stayed for the Tau Pok. Look at how they plated that tau pok!? Sauce on the side for real. Work of art. Stuffed tau pok with mozzarella. Fusion food wor.

The Skewer Bar is always crowded on weekends! Great place to enjoy beer and kushiyaki without breaking the bank! You can literally just go crazy on their $1.50/$1.60 chicken/pork teriyaki skewers. With so much meat on the menu we need our vege-compensation and this huge KIOļ¼ˆčŒ„子šŸ†) is awesome. Itā€™s charred, spicy and garlicky. Definitely something to re-order every time you go back.

My first taste of the lychee pork belly skewer and I was hooked. Had to be one of my favourites there. The kidney and heart skewers were also well marinated. Even those didnā€™t typically eat it liked it. Eggplant was good but too spicy for my friends, so those intolerant to spice beware. Chawanmushi was also pretty good!

Honestly didnā€™t come across many qualms about this place. Everything on the menu was worth ordering. Wish they had more variety though!
