Usually avoid kaya & gula melaka stuffs but glad I tried this! Very fragrant but isn't too sweet, amt of spread given is just nice. Sweet & savoury with the cheese slice between. Bread was toasted perfectly with slight crispy exterior yet soft & fluffy inside. Perfect breakfast especially when dipped in the soft boiled eggs!

Smooth & fragrant yam paste with some shallot bits inside. Not too sweet as well๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป great for tea time or breakfast with a cup of Kopi O Kosong.

Step into The Hainan Story, where the love for Hainanese cuisine takes a modern twist, creating a culinary adventure that will delight your taste buds. Nestled within the stylish Hotel Boss, this "instagrammable coffeehouse" captures the essence of a Singapore-style cha chan teng while serving up comforting Hainanese favorites.

Prepare yourself for a gastronomic journey as you explore the seven unique brands housed in this outlet. From The Hainan Story Bakery and The Hainan Story Coffee & Toast to Newspaper Hainanese Curry Rice and Uncle Robert Hainanese Western & BBQ, each brand brings its own distinct flavors to the table. And let's not forget the iconic Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice, accompanied by the exciting new concepts of Jin Jin Golden Porridge and Whole Street White Kway Chap.

But that's not all! The Hainan Story has recently introduced its first-ever Hainanese high tea set, perfect for those seeking a leisurely afternoon indulging in local delights and delectable cakes. Picture a three-tiered masterpiece showcasing the best of Hainanese teatime favorites, such as Crispy Prawn Fritters, Hainanese Har Chou, "Yibua" (Hainanese steamed dumplings), Honey Toast Cubes, Swiss Rolls, and more!

To elevate your high tea experience, don't miss out on the refreshing Qing Bu Liang dessert. This refreshing concoction features a delightful blend of coconut water, taro balls, red kidney beans, pearl sago, coconut jelly and honey sea coconut, topped with shaved coconut ice and an adorable frozen iced bear.

With its modern twist on Hainanese cuisine and its charming ambiance, The Hainan Story is the place where family members of all ages gather together for a comforting meal.
