After a 4-year hiatus, Sugarhall, a home-grown Rum-focused cocktail pub returned earlier this March, and is currently located above their sibling restaurant Rosemead. Locate the back door right behind Rosemead and the flight of stairs will lead you up to this dimmed chic space.
While most of us in the group felt like their drinks were a little off-track and too strongly flavored, there were some bar snacks that we thought were not bad instead, despite the limited food menu. This chicken liver toast caught our attention as it boasts of creamy chicken liver pâté that’s not overly animalic but taste well complemented by the slather of some sweet caramelised onion on top. However, the toast could have been served warmer and crispier.
This is a classic - just perfect simplicty!
Cheesecake is light and fluffy with that amazing crumbly base, whipped cream and topped with mixed berries.
Definitely baked and with the right amount of citrus, needing no fancy twist.

Sugarhall really does their desserts right!
Brownie has that crispy top and the insides are rich and dense with semisweet chocolate.
I loved the peanut butter crumb toppings, and vanilla ice cream. Sweet, salty, and savoury goodness!

Sugarhall is an upbeat bar with low lights and an extensive rum collection. Though music may be a little loud for comfortable conversation.
My drink is similar to the mezcal mule - smoky and sweet. However, there wasn't enough mezcal for that smoky agave kick. You will definitely be able to taste the sweetness of the ginger and the candied ginger gives it a nice crunch too. Overall, the drink was too sweet for my liking.
Petpeeve - the ice block made up 1/2 of my drink!

Friend thinks it tasted disgusting as a combination. I thought it was great. Maybe I love coconut too much
NEED!
After a hectic week, all one needs is this San Juan Cooler from Sugarhall. The concoction made of Bacardi Carta Blanca, passionfruit, lime, Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic and topped off with green grapes, makes this a refreshing and palatable drink with a kick. I wish this came in a jug.
