Despite it being a place for sandwiches, Souper Sarnies' waffles are widely raved which sparked my interest to try them out. Definitely not regretting the decision because its crisp on the outside, and moist in the inside with a fragrant buttermilk aroma. Topped with caramalised bananas cooked to soft and with salted caramel that was not too overwhelming, the only let down was the ice-cream which is on the verge of turning icy though overall it's pretty acceptable. Perhaps the waffle would not hit those who love their's dense and thick, but I like the way it was being light so it doesn't feel like I have stuffed myself too badly as though I had a complete meal.
Creamy cheesecake that isn't too rich, and just enough salted caramel to complement the flavour without overwhelming it.
Buttermilk waffle with caramelised banana drizzled with homemade salted caramel ($12.90) - The waffle is fluffy and airy and has a dry texture. The highlight of this dessert is definitely the caramelised banana that is done very well. Bananas used are well ripened and soft to chew. Topped with vanilla beans ice cream and salted caramel sauce, I will hope that they will be more generous with the sauce serving.
Tried the brunch offerings at Souper Sarnies yesterday. Good food and coffee but portions were not quite satisfying even for my leeeetle tummy.
Love the roast beef sirloin sandwich.
Toasted Sourdough with truffle egg mayonnaise and lettuce. Upgrade with $3 for a small soup or salad. Sarnies are priced from $6.90 onwards.
