Visited by Anthony Bourdain and other famed local foodies + on michelin guide 👅 but most imptly it’s my husbando’s regular go-to cai fan stall since young ☺️ He insisted i have to try the crab bee boon here so this is my first time😊 the crab is cooked tender peeled off skin 💗 the bee hoon is thickly coated by the savory sweet sauce infused with the umami crab flavor 🦀
I don’t always eat duck rice but when I do, I get a bit overambitious?
Had all these to myself and it was $9. Probably not the most affordable around but it was at least satisfying. A good portion of juicy duck meat, and tender duck liver, generously drenched with the thick savory-sweet braised gravy! Their chili was pretty shiok too.
Every other turtle soup just taste like your normal bak Kut teh herbal soup. They don’t impress me cause I might as well drink bkt instead. This is the only place I will go and I do have my cravings cause the soup is just out of this world tasty. You can taste the chinese wine and herbs, Chili is amazing & more portion of turtle meat here unlike other places. When people ask me how does turtle soup taste like? Most places just taste of your normal herbal soup & turtle meat is soft, tender & chewy! Its heaty for us but also good at the same time so drink in moderation. .

💵 : $35 for this bowl that feeds 3.
👄 : Will I return? Yes! .

Home made otah with lots of spices and chunky fish meat. It’s thick in size and very solid but pricey for a piece of side dish & considering how otah are so much cheaper at anywhere else. Honestly, can’t get the same solid piece anywhere else tho & it will leave you wanting for more than 1 piece. recalled it being at $9 but I just googled & it’s $12 online. .

🌟 : Tips - This is one of the dish from their “economical” food tray that they serve during lunch time.
This is the reason we came here for. The bee hoon comes slicked in a thick crustacean-y, umami and wok hei-packed gravy that was unfortunately just toooo salty. The crabs were cooked just right thankfully, but again, this "recommended" portion was way too much and we couldn't finish it.
It was hard not to feel a little "cheated" when we left. Needless to say, our dining experience here wasn't great. I'm glad I got to try the (in)famous crab bee hoon, but I'm certain I won't visit again (I find it hard to recommend this too).
Not the biggest fan of frog legs so this wasn't worth it for me (not to mention another shocker in our bill 😂). But I do have to say that this was the only other dish I actually liked here (other than the crab bee hoon). The legs were tender and the garlic-studded sauce dosed with chicken essence was flavoursome (and the only one that wasn't overly salty that night).
