This bak kut teh stall opens very early in the day from 7:30am till evening, selling peppery style of bak kut teh here.
You can choose from either the normal serving with bowl, or go with the claypot serving. The claypot serving will persevere the hot soup longer than normal bowl.
The smallest size of claypot serving already comes with lots of meats, and it is really peppery as you would find all the peppers at the bottom.
Located within Chong Boon Market and Food Centre, Seng Kee Bak Kut Teh impressed the Burpple Tastemakers' with its comforting broth. The Bak Kut Teh Claypot ($12) sees fall-off-the-bone spare ribs swimming in a soup stock that is described by Tastemaker Vanessa Kou to be "a light, pepperish broth robust with sweetness derived from pork, balanced with a blend of herbal taste" that is further enhanced by seaweed. Apart from Bak Kut Teh, Tastemaker Peter Wong endorses the unbelievably tender Braised Pig Trotters ($5) while Tastemaker Zhihui Lim highly recommends going for their Teochew-style side dishes like the steamed White Rabbit Fish (three for $10) that is "not as fishy as they usually are, and our table loved the dip". Note that the fish selection is seasonal. Come by with your family for a seriously satisfying meal!
Avg Price: $10 per person

Exploring the AMK neighbourhood, my favourite stop at last weekend’s hawker hopping adventure would have to be Seng Kee Bak Kut Teh at Chong Boon Market & Food Centre.
A stellar variation of the Teochew style Bak Ku Teh, the Claypot BKT ($12) held a light, pepperish broth robust with sweetness derived from pork and balanced with a blend of herbal-y taste. Enhanced with seaweed, the peppered soup was strong but not overpowering so. The lean ribs was also fall off the bone tender. Shiok on its own, with a bowl of rice but even better with the sides - braised pork trotters and steamed fish.
The unanimous hit at the table was the delish, seasonal White Rabbit Fish (3 for $12). None of the usual fishiness, the steamed fish was fresh, moist and the firm textured flesh, delicate. Perfect when dipped in the saucer of bean sauce, the fish also went really well with the sauce from the Braised Pork Trotters ($5). Well braised and very soft, the meat was good and the skin springy.

Found a new place for bak kut teh that I'll come back again for.
🔸
It's pepperish, garlicky and tastes herbal, so this claypot bak kut teh is a cross between the pepperish teochew style and the Malaysian herbal style. The pepper and garlic aren't as intense as the pure teochew bak kut teh, and the herbal taste isn't as strong and bitter as pure herbal ones, but it's definitely a rich and strong bowl of concoction you're getting here, and I love it.
🔸
The rabbit fish (3 for $12) was also very fresh, strangely without the typical fishy taste found in rabbit fish. Skip the salted vege. The trotters had just the right 'collageny' springy texture without being too oily, not too salty and is rather light. I'll definitely come back again. Anyone wants to join me during my next visit?

[Seng Kee Bak Kut Teh, #01-06] Pretty good bakkutteh on one of our (many) hawker stops on Saturday!
Claypot bkt ($12) - soup was light, just the right balance of peppery and herbal taste (+ seaweed!) with tender pork ribs. We kept going for the soup even though the weather was sweltering. For more variety, go for their Teochew-style side dishes too - there are salted vegetables, braised trotters which were tasty and its meat fell off the bone easily. What came as a surprise though, was the rabbit fish (3 for $12) which was not as fishy as they usually are, and our table loved the dip! #burpple #BurppleAMKHawkers
Seng Kee Bak Kut Teh was effortlessly crowned as one of the crowd favourites of the day during our #BurppleAMKHawkers explore trail! The addictive herbal-y and lightly peppered base made it so easy to slurp down even though it was a terribly hot day. That said though, if you’re one for heavily peppered soup, this might not be for you.
Apart from the claypot BKT ($12) and its tender ribs which lent sweetness to the broth, you’ll be pampered with choices of sides, from braised pig trotters ($5), salted vegetables, beancurd and the freaking tasty steamed white rabbit fish (3 for $12). It’s SO good dipped in that unassuming saucer of Teo Chew bean sauce! Super shiok! You can also get their non-claypot BKT from $5.
