the double bacon smash burger is definitely worth the buck - super juicy patty with a slightly spicy sauce. if you are visiting, definitely order this!

I had a pleasant dinner with my partner at Seng House, a cozy and quaint cafe in the Katong area. Their duck confit was tender and flavorful, the ribeye was perfectly juicy and full of flavor. However, the mac and cheese was the star of the evening with the crispy cheese topping providing a satisfying contrast against the creamy and thick sauce. To end the meal, we indulged in the chocolate matcha lava cake, a decadent treat with a warm, gooey center. The food took slightly longer than expected to arrive, but overall, a great dining experience with delicious food and a lovely ambience.

I recently visited Seng House, and it was an enjoyable experience overall. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy interior that made for a comfortable dining experience.

The flat white was well-crafted, with a smooth, velvety texture and a nice balance between espresso and milk. The coffee had a rich aroma and a strong yet not overpowering flavor, making it a great pick-me-up.

The beef burger was flavorful, with a well-seasoned patty and fresh toppings. The bun was soft yet held together well. The fries on the side were crispy and well-seasoned, making for a satisfying combination.

This dish was the highlight for me. The black version of the fried carrot cake had a good balance of sweetness from the dark soy sauce and a slight smokiness from the wok. The texture was perfect—crispy on the outside while remaining soft inside. It had just the right amount of egg and was generously portioned.

The service was efficient, with friendly staff who were attentive but not intrusive. The café had a relaxed vibe, making it a nice spot for both casual meals and work sessions.
A great café with well-prepared food and quality coffee. I’d definitely return for the black fried carrot cake and another cup of flat white!

I ordered the Hainanese Pork Chop and it was really good, especially the fries. Recommended place for dinner!

This cafe is a hidden gem with a charming, unique interior. The portions are generous and well worth the price! The crispy squid tentacles were incredibly appetizing—easily the best I’ve had. As a duck lover, the duck confit gnocchi was a perfect choice, and the ribeye paired beautifully with the chimichurri. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Cosy dinner at Seng House - Tanjong Katong Coffee House

Always walked by but never had the opportunity to try it! Finally found the time to make my way down!

Ambience at the cafe was super cozy - gives off a very warm and relax vibe!

Had the Dinner menu - Rustic Duck Confit Gnocchi ($25.80), Barramundi in White Clam Sauce ($24.80) with the sides of Mac and Cheese ($12.80) and Truffle Fries ($13)

My favorite has to be the Barramundi! It was so fresh, with a juicy, tender inside and a perfectly crispy outside. It also came with a variety of delicious sides like deep-fried baby squid (calamari), fresh clams, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. The dish was so vibrant and visually appealing! Everything complemented each other beautifully, and the portion size was just right.

The Gnocchi was amazing too! It was cooked to perfection—soft, pillowy, and not the slightest bit powdery!

Overall it was a great dinner! Highly recommended!
