Theirs was absolutely delicious, I couldn't help myself and had more pieces than I should have. The lotus paste has enough complexity, the texture was excellent too. Smooth and not greasy, not does it stick to your teeth. Not too sweet, and well balanced by the egg yolk which wasn't too salty either.
I don't have too many mooncakes but I really thought this was delicious. I doubt it's an average standard by any means. The price is probably formidable though
The execution was pretty decent, the mix of nuts were nice and sweetness was appropriate. There's a scent of spice too, permeating the entire mooncake, and the sweet ham worked well in increasing the complexity
This was soooo not worth it. Yeah it might be traditional and whatnot but steamed claypot rice felt like an utter blasphemy. Where’s the wok hei aroma? Wheres that slight char I thought I was gonna get? Man, I would rather see those rice grains stuck at the side and impossible to scrape out. You see, this was still edible — but for $108, I’d rather have claypot rice in my humble hawker centres. Furthermore, the traditional steamed claypot rice was brought and dry, and lacked fragrance, which was truly not the kind of quality I’d expect from the price. The claypot rice was also served separately with the ingredients on the side, which was… not the best kind of presentation I’d like to see when I think of claypot rice. I was thinking a well presented claypot rice with all the ingredients laid out or mixed together with the rice. Btw, the picture above is a bowl of portioned rice with all the ingredients plated at the side. I guess the upside behind this concept was that people can just decide for themselves what ingredients they want to put in… But I could do that too with the ingredients in the bowl.
The LNY menu doesn’t seem as enticing as Peach Garden’s usual ala carte menu. Furthermore, let’s be real and say that prices at such restaurants are just so jacked up during this period, and I should’ve known better!

The dish in itself was decent, a good amount of wasabi essence but I felt like the salad cream texture did not complement the whole prawn dish very well. However, a pretty pathetic serving for the price, especially when I was not completely mindblower by the flavours of the prawns.
