Had the opportunity to dine at One Prawn and Co recently and it was a great experience! I liked that it was an open kitchen concept and allowed the diners to get up close and personal with the kitchen preparation and cooking process. We started with the sour dough bread with seaweed butter and honey, which was buttery, creamy and yet with a subtle and distinct seaweed taste and flavor. We also had the monkfish skewer which we shared. It was my first time having monkfish and I liked the grilled flavors of the skewer. We then ordered an Octopus assam pedas hummus to share and this was the first time I saw assam pedas presented this way! I liked how it was spicy yet done in the way of hummus, which complemented the grilled octopus well. For our mains, we ordered the grilled swordfish and the ribeye steak. Both didn’t disappoint! Great experience at one prawn and co! Would recommend this for date nights and chill outs with friends and family!!
The star dish of my meal there were these tiger prawns. The juiciness, umami flavour that came from the prawns really shows the freshness of it. I really enjoyed my experience there and every dish I ordered was just such a hit, had a really good experience dining here and will definitely be back soon!
Dining at One Prawn & Co was an absolute treat. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service truly stood out — our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, offering helpful suggestions that made our meal all the more enjoyable.
We especially loved the jumbo tiger prawn and prawn toast. Each bite was full of flavour, and the sauce brought just the right balance to the dish.
I’ll definitely be returning soon — the beef is next on my list to try!
Went there on a weekday evening to try the food and really enjoyed the experience! We got seated at the counter and were able to watch the chefs grill and plate the different dishes; the chefs and servers were friendly and took the time to explain each dish. Tried a couple of different starters and mains but my favourites were definitely the beef bulgogi with uni starter and the black cod. The black cod's skin was super crispy and light while the meat was extremely tender, would definitely come back to eat this dish again!
Was told about this place by a peer when asking for a restaurant recommendation for New Bahru since it was my first time there. I was pleasantly surprised by the interesting infusion of local flavours to their menu. I particularly like their Asam Hummus grilled squid. The hummus dip was so good that I wanted to ask for a 2nd portion as a seafood dip for my other orders. The seaweed butter ,that came along with our sourdough bread, brought with it a subtle hint of umami goodness to our bread. The bread, by the way, was surprisingly chewy and soft. The grilled Kingfish came with a generous coating of Doenjang and Ssamjang bean paste which further helped to bring out the sweetness of the fish. The next good thing that came that evening was the ribeye served with an authentic splash of Nam Jim Jaew. This dish is a shout-out to all you Thai Isaan food lovers out there. Their version of Naam Jim Jaew was less heavy on the toasted chilli and had a little more citrusy profile to it. All in all, I would this is a good restaurant that you should try out as a good representation of up and coming Singaporean restauranteurs.
Rich and flavourful broth, the lobster meat was chewy and tasted very fresh!!
