Not bad! I prefer the black bak kut teh which has herbs

Visited this branch on a Saturday lunch time and it wasn’t really crowded. We ordered the large portions as we were really hungry and it filled me up. I would say that the broth was not thick or tasty as I had thought it would be. Seems watery and lacking in flavor which was such a pity.

One of the bak kut teh shop in Singapore that sells in set meal form. A set comes with rice, bak kut teh, tau huey and you tiao. Hearty meal with good old taste. Spam the garlic at their self-service condiment station.

1 FOR 1 pork ribs bak kut teh soup, available in both small($8.40) and large($11.40) sizes! Also FREE refill of the bak kut teh soup, which i stopped at only one refill (i paiseh to ask for more 🙈). I am sure the soup broth isn't the strongest tasting around but it's considered quite decent! Also had additional sides of YouTiao($2.20) and Braised Vegetables with some 三成肉($4.20). The chopped garlic, chili and sauces are at the side counter where we could help ourselves to it! This is considered a VERY GOOD DEAL with the 1 for 1 pork rib soup offer!! I am quite glad I had the chance to try with this offer, if not i would not be able to try it as it would not be worth the money spent with the regular price.

Asked my friend what would he like for dinner before he flies to Beijing for 4 months and he said Bak kut teh. We decided to try this convenient bak kut teh store that has sprung up almost everywhere. Food was good but not great. Their bak kut teh was v rich w pork essence, but you do not taste the herbs other than pepper. Though that, the meat was very tender. Give and take I guess?

Old Street Bak Kut Teh is expanding rapidly with 7 outlets and counting. They have all the usual Pork Rib Soup, Peanuts, Preserved Vegetables ... For something special, try their Dry Bak Lit Teh. Please read my review at www.hungryghost.sg
