Tried the Gula Melaka Pandan Bar ($5.20) from Joe & Doe, and it was love at first bite!
The combination of rich gula melaka (palm coconut sugar) and fragrant pandan was absolute perfection.
Paired it with a cup of freshly brewed robust coffee ($6.30), which complemented the sweetness of the cake beautifully.
The coffee was bold, yet smooth, with a hint of bitterness that cut through the richness of the gula melaka.

Shakshuka and breakfast set - was affordable and was pleasantly surprised at how good this was!!

Cheesecake was very rich and creamy, with a choc cookie Oreo-like base. Soft little bite sized apple bits made it more refreshing. The crumble on top was very good. Fresh, crunchy and buttery.

Originally this cake and coffee set came with Americano in small size at $7.80. I changed it to Flat White and upsized it to large at an extra $1.60. Kind server made the cake hot for me. It was delicious. Not very sweet, and complemented the Flat White well. Note that if you spend min $10, can get Durian Cheesecake at only $1. I didn’t see this special offer till too late...

This unassuming slice of cake tastes BEST when heated up! How can it be fluffy and dense at the same time? It is definitely worth a 💯😉

The best thing is, it is part of a tea break set! We only topped up 90 cents on top of the Americano 😎

Pair your cup of Americano with a slice of Pandan Gula Melaka at Joe & Dough. ($7.80)

The Pandan Gula Melaka slice (smaller version of their slice of cake) had a fragrant Pandan base with a cake-like texture. The gula melaka was not too cloyingly sweet and was finished perfectly with a strong fresh grated coconut taste.

Paired perfectly with a rather robust Americano, it was the perfect way to spend tea-time in the quaint cafe. Their Signature D.r Joe 1914 comes highly recommended too.

Indeed, good coffee I had from @joendough but I feel like crap cos I am dead tired. Totally energy-less. If I could sleep forever without disruption, that would be my greatest wish come true. .

A big cup of steaming hot black coffee. Not acidic with strong coffee taste. Nice quiet cafe and comfy sofa seats.

This was a bit sweeter than the one I had at Seletar Mall. The coconut taste was more pronounced, which I guessed was where the sweetness came from. I prefer the one at Seletar.

This place had nice sofa seats. A quiet oasis amidst the madness of Sunday family shopping.
