This bowl of Oyoko Don ($9.80) is one of a kind - sweet, savoury and spicy all in one. The paprika powder added an extra dimension of flavour without overpowering the flavour of the chicken. Unlike the usual steamed white rice, mixed grains were used which were slightly hard (but healthier option 😉). Albeit well seasoned, the egg could have been much silkier and softer. Chicken cubes hidden are abundant and very juicy!

We ordered the set meal ($16) which came with a choice of noodles, dumplings, and a cocktail-style drink. After deliberating between the options, I finally decided on the miso mushroom noodles.

Possessing a down-to-earth tastiness, the earthy fragrance of the mushrooms paired well with the springy handmade noodles. The miso tare added depth to the noodles and created a flavour reminiscent of mazesoba. Love love LOVE the hanjuku egg which was well-marinated. That being said, I felt that the fried shallot was a tad excessive, and it slightly masked the flavour of the bowl.

Stuffed with truffle potato, bacon and melted cheese, their fried pierogi is an interesting take on what we are usually accustomed to. Notably, the exterior is crispy and was not as oily as I thought it will be. Capped off the meal with a refreshing grapefruit thyme strawberry green tea 🤗

Will definitely return to try other combinations as it is super worth it with Burpple Beyond! It is recommended to head down early as the place was brimming with people by noon.

Perfect for big eaters, this breakfast set consists of eggs of your choice, two slices of nicely toasted sourdough bread, a large cheesy chicken sausage, sautéed mushrooms, potato chunks, pork belly, and a side of vegetables! The mushrooms were on the dry side, and the eggs could have been more fragrant. Other than that, I felt that the quantity made up for it as I was super stuffed at the end 😅

For every big breakfast meal, my first line of business would be to attack the eggs as I feel that the quality of it would be a good gauge for the rest of the ingredients. Nestled on top of a sourdough bread, the scrambled eggs were pretty creamy, although it did lack the oomph factor. The bacon and sausages were slightly tough and dry, and I would have appreciated the sautéed mushrooms being more juicy!

For the burger set, we love the sweet potato fries which were thick and crisp to perfection. The meat patty in the burger was not as flavourful as we expected though. 😔

No doubt that the meal was hearty as it filled us up nicely, but we felt that the food was pretty mediocre for its price. 🤔 Location-wise, it is definitely more convenient as compared to other cafes, so it is a good place to catch up with your friends over a cup of cuppa!

The main star of this is definitely their thick juicy slab of well-marinated buttermilk fried chicken. It is blanketed with a layer of melted cheese and densely sandwiched between two pieces of fluffy potato bun. The shredded lettuce drenched in garlic aioli and Chipotle honey dressing between the layers added a sweet savoury kick.

However, we definitely felt that it was quite pricey for one portion ($16). That being said, the portion is pretty huge (could barely hold them up with one hand and the ingredients kept spilling out of the buns 😂), so I would recommend ordering different variations of sandwiches and split among yourselves to enjoy the best of all worlds!

Would definitely be back to visit this place again to try out their PBJ sandwich and other breakfast items 🍳

This unassuming slice of cake tastes BEST when heated up! How can it be fluffy and dense at the same time? It is definitely worth a 💯😉

The best thing is, it is part of a tea break set! We only topped up 90 cents on top of the Americano 😎

Being visually pleasing, the fish taco was like fish and chips but in a taco - what an interesting twist! Drizzled with a generous amount of Chipotle aioli dressing, the huge chunks of fried breaded snapper and cabbage slaw were encased in a crispy baked tortilla. This came with a citrusy side of salsa consisted of chunks of avocado, mango, tomatoes 😍 I would say that the cajun fries are one of the best I have tried - Crunchy, thin, lightly spiced! The sauce might have been a tad too much as it got rather jelat after a while 😅 It could have been better if the chunks of fish are sliced thinner and coated evenly with the sauce 😊 Other than that, everything was delightful!

The Oriole truffle burger came with a mild truffle taste that hit me immediately. Sandwiched between two fluffy brioche buns are a juicy grilled beef patty with melted gooey cheese! Again, Cajun fries are served with it 😋 The greens at the side was refreshing too 🥗 Overall, we felt that it's very well executed!

On my plate is an assortment of ingredients consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, honey glazed pork belly, sautéed mushrooms, salad, and tomatoes. These yummy breakfast goodies definitely hit the spot!

What I found unique is the honey glazed pork belly, as these usually do not come in big breakfast sets! I love how it is sweet yet savoury at the same time 😍 Ate it together with the white bread which is soaked with the goodness from the fluffy scrambled eggs.

All in all, the portion is pretty generous and appealed to my taste palette ☺️
