A very interesting and good match between matcha and yuzu. There were so many layers in this cake, from the top the yuzu jelly layer which had jelly texture but really thick and strong yuzu flavor. There the matcha cheesecake layer, which was very rich in matcha flavour, not so much on cheese taste, and was not overly sweetened so the matcha flavor could still be tasted. There was some almond biscuits with white chocolate as the base, which was really the sweetener of the cake. The almond biscuits part was really fragrant and so familiar in taste. White chocolate was crunchy and sweet. A good balance for those who wants some sugar in their cake but I felt it was slightly too sweet.

My first time trying a black sesame choux puff and it did not disappoint. Coated in white and milk / dark chocolate, this choux puff is pretty sweet. The cream looks greyish in colour but it surprised me with its nutty bssm taste.

This would probably satisfy black sesame lovers! Will def try again.

Signature Matchaya Parfait ($16.90)

Uji Matcha (tried before and i felt that their colour change a bit lighter compared in the past), Hojicha (roasted tea)(never tried their roasted tea flavour before and strong taste in flavour), Kurogoma (black sesame) (never tried their roasted tea flavour before and light taste in flavour) and Hokkaido Milk (not available as my friend wanted to try it and they decided to switch Sakura (extra change of $1) :") (tried before and i felt that their colour still remained the same compared in the past) my friend they said that matcha & hojicha got a lot of grainy taste and texture but he didn't really like it sadly. He choose Kurogama and Sakura as for his best flavour. For me, I didn't like sakura as it just taste like cough syrup. I choose matcha, hojicha and kurogama as for my best flavour.

We can always count on matchaya to produce quality matcha milk drink. Not too sweet yet smooth and silky just the way I like it. The azuki roll puzzled me. I don't anything from the cream. Not sweet but also no taste of green tea. It might be because of the fact that I am already the matchya milk with it . I am not sure. This roll is definitely an adult taste bec the only sweetness comes from the red bean part. I think it's a good choice if you want a cake but don't want something too cloying. I might try it again with a milder tea to be certain.

Didn’t know Matchaya had sesame ice cream but here we are. This was very nutty and earthy with a slight sweetness to it. Really liked it!
