From a temporary pop-up booth @marinasquaresg , @thewickedcream.sg also serves up softserve and ice-cream apart from their signature torched marshmallows (swipe to the end to view the menu). The softserves comprises of 2 flavours, made using Hokkaido milk: Seasalt milk or Lavender, or simply get a twist of dual flavours when you can’t make up your mind (which was what I did🤭😅)! Garnished with freeze dried raspberries and topped off with a savoury cookie, the typical catchphrase “looks better than it taste” instantly sparked across my mind as I had my first bite of this whimsical-looking softserve. Imo this resembles more of a typical vanilla softserve, with just hints of saltiness in the seasalt that was unevenly spread, mild and barely detectable. The characteristic floral flavour and fragrance in the lavender was lacking greatly as well, overwhelmed by the milky counterpart, which I would have expected (and wished for) a vice versa instead. My personal advice is to just stick with their signature torched marshmallows (if you have a sweet tooth) and that will be a much safer option! 👍🏻 .

I had beef curry ($5 half portion) and beef sutikei. It was beeflicious ($13 half portion)! free rice was great too with a yummy onsen egg ($1). I loved that you can do quarter half or full portion so I could try a bunch of stuff! ✌🏼also tagging this donburi gives me 300g of jap rice - sushi party time?

The inaugural Donburi Revolution, held between 19 and 21 October, was the first of its kind in Singapore, with visitors carrying a bowl of rice and walking around booths manned by 6 local Japanese food operators to create their dream Donburi.

While all the booths were serving some mouth-watering items to go with the bowl of yummy Hokkaido rice, my eyes were fixed on the Tempura Combo Set (S$8.00) curated by Tendon Ginza Itsuki, which was part of the Ramen Keisuke concept restaurants. With a prawn, a slice of chicken breast, a seaweed cheese, vegetables and an onsen egg each prepared as Tempura, the meal was already perfect. And that Sakura Cola (S$3.00) was quite interesting too, like having a Coke Clear with some flavourings and colourings in a bottle.

Well I would really hope that WAttention Singapore would be able to bring in more of such events in the near future, to satisfy the growling tummies of the Japanese food lovers. 🤤

Avalanche dessert is one of the highlight of Non-Entree Desserts, and they brought in the fried version of salted egg avalanche to the Cake Club at Marina Square! Crispy fried exterior adds a slight crunch, together with curry leaves at the bottom complementing the salted egg flavour, it easily won my heart. Vanilla ice cream is filled with vanilla pods, reminding you it’s the real deal! Yam lovers can pick the Orhni version for a sweeter ending. It’s for this weekend only so better be quick and go grab one to indulge right now

Because dessert is always a good idea, Cake Club by Marina Square is every sweet tooth’s dream come true. An entire weekend pop-up dedicated to showcasing some of the best bakeries and cake shops we have in Singapore.

But apart from cakes, one of the main highlights is the Vendors Guest Shifts and this weekend sees items from Non Entrée Desserts! Exclusively available at the Cake Club, dig into their Fried Salted Egg Avalanche with Vanilla Ice Cream and Deep Fried Orhni Avalanche with Coconut Gelato - each priced at $8.50.

A wonderful twist to their signature avalanche series, the fried exterior certainly adds a different textural contrast though the flow of the warm lava is less dramatic. And if like me, you enjoy hints of savoury to your desserts, the Salted Egg Avalanche would definitely hit the spot with subtle fragrance from the curry leaves atop the bits of baked Kataifi. So good~

A big thank you to Burpple for the invitation and Marina Square for hosting us!
