Luscious, fresh and thick cut.
Uni is melty & creamy; Hotate is smooth to the tongue; Toro, Salmon Belly are beautiful, fatty and tender; & Hamachi is bold & buttery.
Went in a group of 6 and we all left satisfied. Really loved the Tonkotsu Chasyu Ramen, broth is just right. Isnβt too salty or too bland. They are pretty generous with the Chasyu!
Mixed Tempura was great as well. Probably want to avoid the Spicy Garlic Ramen as it was average.
Ambience and service: ππ»ππ»
Would definitely visit again (plus points, theyβre opened till late which makes a good supper go-to place!)
Total bill amounted to $68 which we all felt was worth the price given the quality.
Tucked into a small mall, the restaurant opens up into a homely space reminiscent of an authentic Japanese eatery. I imagine they must be quite well known for their sushi, but we tried the tonkotsu charshu ramen ($14.90++). I wasnβt fond of the noodles - they had a good bite, but tasted starchy / like yellow noodles. The broth was thick and flavourful without being too salty! The pieces of charshu are rather thin, but they were easily the highlight - glazed in a sweet sauce, the meat is tender and its fat melts in your mouth π€€
Super value for money with the Burpple deal. Great ambience and food. The soup was just right, not too rich or salty. The service, however, was a tad slow.
Ordered the Oyako Don, Tonkatsu Ramen and the Gyoza for dinner. I am impressed by how nice the food tastes at a price range of $12++, much btr than other Japanese restaurants with steeper pricing. The service by their staff was superb and overall ambience felt exclusive. (Quiet as not many know abt this place). This place is definitely worth a shot!
The place itself was a little hard to find, and sad to say central mall seemed deserted with only a few restaurants around the vicinity.
The interior of Manpei, however, has a nice Japanese set up and it makes you feel relaxed while dining there.
Moving on to food, the best part about this dish was the chashu as it had a nicely charred flavour to it. The noodles and soup are just average.
The total bill amounted to about $18. Would definitely recommend if youβre looking for an affordable bowl of noodles π
