A really lovely loaf of focaccia!
I like how they spiced things up a little by adding truffle into your traditional focaccia flavours of garlic and rosemary. It worked out surprisingly well because the truffle smell and taste were subtle - you can smell it but it doesnât overpower the scent of garlic and rosemary and the taste comes through almost as an aftertaste. Even when I heated it up in the oven for a few minutes, I still smelled garlic and rosemary before the truffle hits you.
I also enjoyed the full chunks of garlic in this, which were soft and sweet. They added a layer of texture and definitely extra flavour.
I ate mine with a slab of slightly salted butter on top, which was just excellent! It also paired well dipped into some extra virgin olive oil.
Definitely one to grab if youâre wondering what to get from Maison SucrĂ©e!
Easily my favourite pastry from the bunch I tried at Maison Sucrée this morning.
Chocolate puff pastry AND chocolate chips? Yes please! I heated this up in the oven for a few mins and it came out super flaky and crispy while the chocolate chips had melted just enough to get that gooey texture.
Despite being double chocolate, this wasnât overly chocolate-y (but I do love chocolate so I wouldnât mind it if it was anyway). It wasnât overly sweet either, as the bitterness from the dark chocolate helps to balance out the flavours.
Could have easily finished this off myself if I didnât have 6 other items from this bakery to try at breakfast! This is the item I would come back for again and again.
The delicate crust cracks with a crisp, revealing an airy and soft inside with circular swirls. It is buttery and soft on the inside and flaky on the outside. Other than butter croissants, they also have chocolate or almond croissants if you are looking for something other than the usual plain croissants ă$3.50
A beautiful pastry base tart filled with lemon curd and topped with meringue. It has a good ratio of crust to lemon curd and Italian meringue. The filling was beautifully creamy, not too sweet, not too tart ă$7
Enjoyable lemon meringue tart from a cosy Muslim owned bakery nestled under a HDB block. The lemon curd was rich and tangy with a good level of sourness. The tart base was baked to a golden brown and nicely crisp and crumbly. Have never been a huge fan of meringue as most renditions are too sweet but theirs was just right and a good balance to the curd. If nitpicking, did find that the lemon curd could have been smoother.

Have caught wind of Maison Sucree at Lengkok Bahru; the Muslim-owned bakery has opened for quite a while by now, but they had recently expanded their space to include a dine-in area with some desserts that are exclusively available for dine-ins only.
The Signature Paris-Brest is one of the items which they had been serving for quite a while now â available for both dine-in and takeaway, but is one that also deserving of the âsignatureâ title that it carries in the name. Deviating from the Paris-Brests that we are more acquainted with, it is worth noting that Maison Sucreeâs version comes with a custard cream rather than the usual hazelnut cream that one would associate Paris-Brests with. That aside, we did enjoy the somewhat crisp choux pastry; itâs sufficiently airy whilst not being too spongy â pretty light as well as the pastry was not particularly dense. The custard cream was adequately sweet; also smooth and creamy with a consistent texture, and comes accompanied with salted caramel drizzled for some contrast of flavours and topped with chopped almonds for a crunch.
Saw that there is already quite a crowd at Maison Sucree when we made our visit on a weekday afternoon â thought that they were an interesting addition to this part of the Redhill area considering the lack of cafes here, not to mention that they do serve up pretty decent pastries that is worth making the trip here for. A name to keep a look out for in time to come!
