Japanese

I've been wanting to try this since forever. But honestly it fell far from my expectation. Warabi topping is nice. Ice cream itself is on the heavier side. Prefer the hojicha > matcha. Waiting time was around 10-15mins. Didn't like how the red beans are at the very bottom and the tasteless rice puffs. If I return I'll probably just get the soft serve - but then again if I'm near Cathay craving for matcha I would head to nana's green tea.

We also ordered a premium chirashi (1 pax) at ~$18. Accidentally stumbled upon this place while looking around the food town. Being in the quaint little corner restaurant makes me feel like I'm in Japan ππ
The curry is smooth and not too thick - not the kind that makes you feel a little sick and heavy afterwards. πHonestly the saba katsu was much smaller than I thought. Taste wise, the batter is good and fish tastes fresh but a little dry π€ if that makes any sense. It's definitely a different type of saba from the usual ones I've had at Korean stalls so I can't say I've anything to compare this to. π
P.S. food takes really long to be served. We waited probably around 30 mins - yes, even for raw fish on a bowl of rice.
Nice cheese flavour and surprisingly light! Makes a really good party snack, worth a try if you're looking for a dessert that is light and not that sweet.
Spicy level 3.
You can choose the spice level for your tendon sauce from 0 to 3. I got level 3 and the spice kicks in after a few mouthful. Definitely spicer than other tendon places which is additional points from me π€ The bowl itself didn't come with much sauce and there wasn't any side sauces on the table so the rice was quite dry. We had to ask for more sauce. Toppings were alright, nothing special worth commenting. Significant difference in the freshness of the prawn compared to the better tendon places.
Went on a Friday lunch time and the wait for food was pretty damn long. I think we might have waiting 30mins or more. Service was sub par, they all look quite lost. 3 of our orders came wrong. Patronized the place because of the burpplebeyond. Overall food was okay.
If summer in Singapore is like this all year round - I would have no complains. ππ»
Went on a Friday evening for dinner. Lucky we only had to queue for a few minutes. Service was good, food was good. Felt like the meat could've been softer. Buuuut I had one of the free flow hard boil eggs (in addition to my ramen egg), and yoke was alittle soft on the inside! ππ€ So that made everything perfect again. π
If you like ramen, this place should be on your TO-EAT-LIST.

Service is not good.
Chashu had really crispy and nicely grilled edges which were tasty. Eggs were perfect and soup was flavourful. Noodles itself is alright, nothing out of the ordinary. Pretty fine ramen is satisfy a ramen craving.
+ Chirashi NDC, damage: $52++
Spicy Mentaiko Don came with huge chunks of salmon cubes and spicy tuna on their signature rice. Salmon was alright, don't really enjoy the consistency of the tuna. I was expecting them to come in cubes. Also the sauce wasn't spicy at all. Rice has a good taste and fragrant to it but they were sticking together in chunks which is quite disappointing. Also there were chewy bits of fats/skin in the sashimi. I would probably stick to the orchard outlet.

Definitely on the pricier side of my ramen budget but really worth the try. Duck meat was soft and thin, love the soba noodles which soaked up the duck broth pretty good. Surprisingly good for a fusion twist.
Went to the taiseng outlet and they only have counter seats of maybe 10-15? Self ordering machine and waited for around 15 mins to be seated.
Damage: $8 for 2pax
Shared this humongous plate with a colleague. Just look at that generous amount of chicken katsu. Original price was $6.90 But we added a dollar more for omelette.
Chicken was fried crispy and not oily, omelette was cooked just right. Only thing I would change is if we can choose the spice level of the curry. Not sure if that's possible but it'll be perfect π€©

I loved everything in the bowl.
βSashimi cubes were fresh
βRice to sashimi ratio was good
βSpiciness of the sauce was perfect. I personally loved it but my friend thought it was too spicy.
It was "back by popular demand" but I sure hope this is on their permanent menu. π

Tried their curry rice a few times and this time I decided to try something new - beef sukiyaki don.
Rice bowl includes an onsen egg, juicy beef slices, Japanese leeks, mushroom, tofu. Everything was surprisingly well balanced. Meat was juicy, leeks were crunchy but not too tough.
A very pleasant surprise and from my visits so far nana's has delivered consistent food quality. Can't wait to try other things on their menu! π
Finally got to try this after so long! π
Just look at the amount of sashimi on that bowl. Taste wise, salmon sashimi slices were fresh, spicy salmon sauce could be spicier and the tuna is my least favourite.
All in all its quite value for money though not the best salmon don I've had. If you're around the area, it's definitely worth shot but be prepared to queue! And also note that their last order is 2.15pm and they'll be closed till dinner time.
