Family-owned restaurant that serves affordable and authentic Korean fare in town! All the items on the menu were priced below $10. To the point when I was already reaching the end of the queue, I was still having difficulty deciding on what to order. Bibimbap, fried saba, spicy chicken, Mandu stew, ramyeon, everything looked good!

Ordered the chicken bibimbap which was served in a sizzling stone bowl. On top of the rice, there were minced chicken, cucumber, bean sprout, carrot, cabbage, and of course that sunny side up. Look at that runny egg yolk, ooh!

Each set comes with a bowl of cabbage soup, gochujang to mix into the bibimbap (I totally love the mixing part like that in claypot rice!), and a choice of side dish (kimchi, cucumber or anchovies).

Surprise to find this cosy little Korean restaurant at Sunset Way, opened by a friendly Korean owner.

Priced at $20, this Haemul-Pajeon (Green onion pancake with seafood) was one of my favorite dishes. The pancake was not too thick and fried to crispy but not burnt even though it looks dark brown. There were different ingredients in the pancake such as prawns, squids and of course green onions.

One thing to mention is the dipping sauce, which wasn't too salty and had a tinge of sweetness. Also, the addition of sesame seeds contributed to the fragrance of the sauce. I couldn't stop dipping the sauce at all!

They also have a wide variety of dishes, even for pancakes itself they have kimchi, vegetable and potato pancakes too! Had a hard time deciding between kimchi and this green onion seafood pancake. I will probably be back again to try the other dishes such as their jjajangmyeon, kimchi pancake and Korean fried chicken!

By the way, their side dishes were good too! They provided 8 side dishes generously, such as fish cakes, kimchi, mashed potato, anchovies, bean sprouts.

This is the first time ever ive come across the option to have dak galbi for 1pax!! Quite tasty, big chunks of chicken thigh meat. Just a bit too much glass noodle for my liking! Very filling as it comes with topokki too! This place even has army stew for 1 pax! Pretty amazing huh

It may be hard to imagine meat-centric Korean fare prepared vegetarian style, but if there's one place that can do it right, it's The Boneless Kitchen. The homey, laidback establishment in Tai Seng serves up all the Korean classics you can possibly think of, from Jajangmyeon ($10.90) to Bibimbap ($9.90) and Kimchi Jjigae (kimchi stew, $9.90). As the Burpple community will have you know, the dishes here are all really flavourful, so much so you wouldn't miss the meat. When dining in a group, consider sharing the Army Stew Jeongol ($35.90), a hotpot laden with ingredients including vegetarian sausage and luncheon 'meat'. It's very filling and good for three to four. Order the Japchae (stir-fried sweet potato noodles, $10.90) to share, or go for their much raved about Jajangmyeon (noodles tossed in black soybean paste, $10.90), which is wonderfully saucy and not too salty. Our only gripe is that the side dishes are not free-flow, but that is a small blip on an otherwise hearty meal.

Just across the road from Beauty World MRT Station is this homey Korean restaurant owned and run by Koreans ā€” an indication that the food here is as authentic as it gets. If that isn't enough to convince you, here's another fact ā€” the restaurant is usually packed with twice as many Korean patrons than Singaporeans so expect to wait around 20 minutes for a table during peak hours. When your body is in need of a soothing pot of spicy stew, be sure to order the Sundubu Jjigae ($10 for seafood) ā€” a bubbling cauldron for one consisting of smooth tofu, vegetables and finished with a raw egg cracked in the middle, served with a side of rice. Their side dishes ('banchan' in Korean) like sausages, kimchi and omelette, are stellar. These are refillable till you're happily stuffed!

Pop by this white, light-filled Bingsu shop in Tanjong Pagar for a quick dessert fix with your colleagues after lunch. There are 13 Bingsus to choose from ā€” of which the Green Tea Bingsu ($14) is the clear standout. Served with a beary cute scoop of matcha ice cream, it also comes with matcha flavoured shaved ice topped with a dollop of azuki beans, matcha KitKat and matcha Pocky. Most of the Bingsus are served in a regular coffee cup so that you can drink up the melted shaved ice once you're done with the other ingredients. Pro tip: this shop is open 24 hours daily, so if you've got bingsu cravings on a balmy night, you know where to go!

Comes in 10 pieces of Gimbap per set and I personally love Gimbap but this wins in terms of taste. Spicy fish cake were definitely spicier and more flavourful, which I totally recommend to try! What is everyone having for dinner tonight? Hashtag #thegrowingbelly to share your meals with us!
