Ordered the mee kia. The noodles were well cooked and didn had the alkaline taste. The soy sauce wasnt too salty. The soup was very flavourful and had many ingredients - minced pork, meatballs, pork slices, kidney and liver. I dont think it is our typical type of bcm but definitely a good bowl of noodle. Would recommend to give it a try if u are in the area.

Springy with a firm bite!

- Pork didn’t have any porky odour and minced pork came in huge chunks.
- Mee pok was springy and QQ with a satisfying bite, fully coated in luscious dark sauce which reminded me of Malaysian wonton mee.
- I liked their spicy chilli paste which was fried with bits of crunchy dried shrimp 🌶️

- Served with generous serving of meatballs, minced pork, pork slices, intestine, kidney and liver 🍲
- I don’t eat innards but my mum really enjoyed how they’re all fresh, nicely cooked and tender, not overdone or too chewy at all.
- Pork liver didn’t have any bitterness and wasn’t undercooked, contrary to some stalls which serve them slightly pink.
- Egg created floating egg whites in the flavourful cloudy soup which wasn’t too salty, so comforting!

With Organ (Pork Intestine, Kidney, Liver)

Add-on extra Pork Lard

$6.50+$0.50

I waited just 9 minutes for my food at Legacy Pork Noodles. I didn’t like it…..

.. I loved it 🤭

Having said that, I’ve read several posts saying they waited 45 mins - 1 hour for their food. There are few things that would make me happy after waiting that long (except Zouk Mambo night iykyk where all my senior citizens at). I really dislike queuing.

So with that context, here’s the low-down:

I got a bowl of Signature Pork Noodles - Soup ($6.50 nett). Was delighted that it costs the same with or without organs (pig intestines, kidney, liver). My friend, on the other hand, was not amused that his organ-less portion didn’t have more meat than mine.. Only a piece of taukee, which wasn’t enough to balance out the inequity.

The soup was flavourful & umami. Ingredients were good & plenty with the organs. I was impressed by how the liver was still tender (a difficult balance to achieve), but didn’t quite enjoy the extreme porkyness of the meatballs. Minced meat & sliced pork were fine, though.

There were 2 chunky pieces of pork lard in the noodles - I don’t eat those, but putting it out there FWIW.

The noodles aren’t tossed in chilli or vinegar like the Bak Chor Mee we are used to in Singapore, so that tangyness & acidity is missing. Nonetheless, it’s still slurpable & flavourful with the dark sauce (KL style), complimented by the silky smooth noodle texture with a great chew in every bite.

I was here at 6:30PM on a weekday, & there wasn’t a queue to place my order. Slightly after I got my food, the queue exploded & the coffeeshop was full-house. By 7:10PM, they closed off orders to focus on cooking - presumably so they can get off work by their closing time of 8PM.

TLDR: Impressed by the noodles here & I hope I don’t have to queue for long the next time I’m here. I would like to try the Bitter Gourd Pork Noodles next time… This was my original selection, but they had run out of bitter gourd. 😥
