Our other must-order dish is Lau Wang's eggplant with minced meat.

The portions are as usual very generous. Chunks of melt in your mouth tender eggplant and minced meat is mixed in a piping hot claylot with a spicy and moreish sauce that is great over rice.

I personally prefer this gravy because it is packed with more flavours and a little more salty compared to the sesame chicken gravy which is a little lighter and sweeter.

If you are looking for a comforting and satisfying meal which reminds you of home cooked food, look no further than Lau Wang!

Lau Wang is one of Miss K's and my favourite casual eateries for a quick and fuss-free meal.

Their signature sesame chicken is one of our must-order dishes. For $6.30, you get a very generous portion (it's definitely more than enough for 2 pax!) of juicy and tender bite-sized chicken chunks in a thick braised gravy which is fragrant and flavourful. It is puuuurfect over rice and even more comforting when the weather is wet and cold.

Umpteenth time here! Favourite items here are the sesame chicken (spicy) and sliced fish herbal soup! Sesame chicken is always the much preferred dish here! This time, we also decided to get their newly launched item - fried fish dumpling ($6 for 5 pcs) too!

Lau Wang Claypot delights has become one of my go-tos for a simple weekday dinner, especially when their food is seemingly reminiscent of home cooked fare. Most of their food, served in a claypot, always comes piping hot, ensuring real comfort that warms your soul. The traditional nyonya chap chye priced affordably at $6.30 comes in great portion, with vegetables stewed til soft. I loved the slightly sourish taste of nyonya chap chye, or what some might describe as a “siap siap” taste, which was well delivered. I’d recommend getting this especially if you’d like a vegetable dish to pair with your food!

Chicken herbal soup is comforting and refreshing, but is mild and light on the herbal side. From its clear broth, don’t expect the thicker, and more herbaceous soup you’d find in emperor herbal chicken soup. But this warm soup is enough to satiate you on a cold day.

Sambal seafood here is extremely worth it with the generous portion of ingredients — sotong, prawns, and fish. The sauciness goes amazing with plain white rice and the spiciness really packs a punch🥵
