The former consists of Tonka bean sweet vermouth, amontillado sherry, talisker 10 and becherovka (and yes, half of those words swoosh right past me) whilst the latter comprises of Hendricks, Bak Kut Teh (!!), lemon, ginger, fizz. Yes, I got high on oink.
The presentation drew a wow from my lips. The taste, not so much. Somehow, somewhere, something fell short. Yes, the giant "drama" pieces of thin, crunchy toast were perfect for scooping up and transporting the ultra-soft chicken liver mousse to my lips. But once passed them, my tastebuds took over and they were generally unimpressed 😑
Being the greedy one, I just had to order bar bites to go along with the drinks. The chicken samosa here is made like a spring roll. Generous portions of curried minced chicken, wrapped in a crispy popiah skin.....Nommmmm!
Saturday night at L'Aiglon, pampered by impeccable service rendered by the staffs. Had the Raging Thunderbird prior to this, which didn't sit well with my tummy, so the staff recommended this Wolf's Peach Illusion, which is made of gin, lychee liquer, basil syrup, fresh lime juice, fresh cherry tomatoes and pineapples. The drink was sweet, smooth and slightly foamy. Absolutely a lady's drink.
Monkey shoulder based drinks - a surprising Rus-Tea Nail with delightful passionfruit pearls, and a refreshing Morning Glory Fizz.
Wolf's Peach Illusion: gin with lychee - my fave combo!Screaming Tomatoes: very unique, racy taste - I love it! Monkey Shoulder: smooth blended whiskey, I never fancied whiskey;till this. Hope they expand the food menu soon!
