What will your #LastMealOnEarth be if the world is ending in a few hours’ time? For @mattleave, it’s a specific order at Jollibee, the 2 pcs Chickenjoy Meal with both sides being the rice and finished with the pineapple juice. I got the same combination (almost) except the pineapple juice as it was sold out and the meal was super satisfying.

For starters, it was my first time having the rice as a side, and eating it with the gravy is just the perfect complement. If the Chickenjoy is Batman, then the gravy will be Robin and rice will be Alfred, they all go hand-in-hand together. Most of you should have eaten Chickenjoy before so I do not need to explain much except that it is one of the best fast food fried chickens now.

This is a new series where people share with me on what would their last meal on earth be if the world is ending in a few hours’ time. Do drop in the comments section if you would like to share your desired last meal on earth and I might go do a food review of it. It will be helpful if you can share details such as 1) dish name and 2) where I can get it in Singapore.

Juicy Chicken and sweet Spaghetti

Delicious! Love the original fried chicken with gravy, the sweet spaghetti, the hotdog with ketchup/mayo/cheese and the pineapple juice. Must order when you're here!

2 Pieces of Chickenjoy Set ($7.75) consisted of 2 chicken (original & crispy) , dipped sauce (mashed potato), french fries and colesaw, rice. They got a variety of side dishes to choose from. Chicken (original) was warm, juicy and crispy on outer skin whereas Chicken (Crispy) was hot, spicy and crispy on outer skin.

Value Meal 1 PC Chickenjoy Set ($5.00) consisted of 1 chicken (drumstick), dipped sauce (mashed potato), french fries and colesaw. They got a variety of side dishes to choose from. Drumstick was warm, juicy and crispy on outer skin but I didn't order more and probably order spaghetti set with chicken for next round.

The chicken is very tender and juicy and goes so well with the gravy that is served at the side. I always order the buttered corn as it is very tasty too! The spicy chicken really got the kick and will definitely suit spicy lovers!

PRICE: $7 ($6 without drink)

WAITING TIME: Slightly more than 5 min on a weekend mid-day

REMARKS:
- Fries are not great. Not crispy. But at least they are not salty.
- Love the spicy fried chicken. The skin was so good, it remained crispy even at the end of the meal (I always save the best for the last). And that mild, enjoyable spiciness. Chicken was juicy, not dry like at Popeyes.
- The gravy is a great accompaniment.

WILL WE RETURN? YES

I’ve never understood the snaking long queues found at every outlet (that persist from morning till night and seemingly never shortens)...until today. Simply put, the chicken here is LIFE-CHANGING. You can never ever touch a filthy KFC drumlet ever again once you’ve laid hands on this divine blessing. The chicken here is served piping hot, coated in a crunchy outer layer that is the epitome of savoury. Every bite provides that satisfying crunch in stark contrast to the inner chicken flesh...

Oh the tender flesh; dripping with natural juices and oil, it peels away from the bone with the softest touch, as if begging to be eaten. With my grubby paws, I stripped away all that was edible, leaving behind bones that were picked clean. The fries are also SPECTACULAR. So, so crisp and not soggy at all. It’s almost as if they were fried on the spot! Ok but I don’t get all the hype over the brown sauce though, it’s just very ordinary brown sauce found at any coffeeshop western stall. But barring that, this is hands down the most satisfying fast food meal I’ve ever had in Singapore, even my fast food connoisseur friend agrees. And with delivery now made available, I’ll know where to get me fried chickadee fix!

Sorry this photo may not look that appetizing but look at that amount of chili sauce! I really want to emphasize on how spicy bursting Jollibee's chicken is, as in spices spicy, not really of heat spicy. Other than the chili sauce that's hidden beneath the chicken skin, the juicy chicken meat that could easily be torn off into strips was also wholly marinated with spices. The batter was thin and crispy. Of course, you could choose the non-spicy version too. There's also a brown savory sauce that tasted like mushroom sauce to dip the chicken meat in, probably the same in the mashed potato. Enjoyed the mashed potato too which is made using yellow potatoes.

Each set comes with a drink and choices of 2 side dishes which include corn, rice, mashed potato or french fries. The menu at Jollibee is much more different than the other fast food chains as they also serve rice, pasta, hotdogs, burgers and mee siam! Probably that's why they can keep the queue never ending.

Finally got to try Jollibee (whooop!) and we made full use of the long waiting time by zooming in straight onto the Bundle Meal ($30) and the Fiesta Noodles + Spicy Chickenjoy ($7.20/ala-carte) just because I was really curious about the noodles.
The chicken was juicy and tender and there was actually a nice, gentle spice kick in the Spicy version!
The highly-raved spaghetti was just what I imagined it to be, noodles sitting below sweet tomato sauce and (actually really salty) melted cheese on top. I'm sure some Italian chefs will be aghast by this, but I get why this is a favourite- nothing fancy, but strangely addictive.
However, my favourite item of the night was definitely the Fiesta Noodles. Because it is quite strong in its shrimp flavours, I think it's a dish that one either loves or won't be fond of, and I certainly belong in the first camp. It reminded me of a thicker, more robust version of the Mee Soto (even the cellophane noodles used are the same).
Their other sides were nicely done too; the fries took us by surprise because they looked stale and dry but were actually crispy. And of course, I appreciated the fact that they served white rice because that's how fried chicken is served Indo fast food chains too!
The two of us couldn't finish this meal meant for 5 I reckon, but that night, we happily brought back a half filled bucket and 2 pot (bellies) home.

Crispylicious and juicylicious - Jollibee's Chickenjoy is so addictive! Complement the juicy meat with either their sweet sauce sausage spaghetti or rice dipped in their special gravy is OMG-yummy!

Finally made it down before they close! Not terrible, but definitely not the best fried chicken from a fast food chain. The meat was really succulent and juicy, but the batter was a little doughy.

Tearing the chicken open and its fragrance made me droop.
To my surprise, they served gravy and rice as the side. Breaking the rice into smaller bites and dipping into the gravy. Soft, Steamy, Savory, Small Bites. 😋😋😋 Jollibee Singapore

Their sausage spaghetti was pretty good. Buttery and Savory. The only downside was that they didn't allow me to purchase the chicken with the spaghetti as the side.

The well-loved Filipino fast food chain is finally in Singapore! (: Without a doubt, the Chickenjoy is a must-order here. The Jolly Hotdog tastes a little different (than the ones I've had in the Philippines), so I recommend sticking to the fried chicken with juicy and flavourful meat underneath the crispy skin.

#jollibee now in Singapore! The queue at least 3 hours long...

Having quick lunch with the happy crew today. Anyone else having to work on a Saturday? 😔
Queue for jollibee today only 10 mins!

Trying this place with @raverickwee ! They have like the best fried chicken ever! 🐔

The fabled jollibee chicken in Singapore. It is very juicy but the brown sauce is pretty bland. Not worth a 45 min queue.
