Stupid choice on my end because the coffee taste is so diluted from the milk.
It's alright
Honestly to a noob like me it's just acidic water but the friend was raving so I guess if you're a connoisseur you'll love it
Coffee is nice and aromatic
For the Grilled Double Cheese ($22), the toast-to-filling ratio was a little off for me as the sourdough was sliced a tad too thick for my liking. However, the hearty sandwich combo was satisfying as the crusty sourdough was grilled to perfection. I enjoyed the fact that there was a substantial amount of mushrooms studded in the melted smoked cheddar, emmental and bechamel. Not too rich or cloying, the cheesy toastie was wonderfully balanced with the spiced tomato relish - moreish, tangy with a slightly herbaceous quality.
I think I found my new favourite cafe as brunch was a blast at Homeground Coffee Roasters~ A hearty meal through and through, the Steak and Asian Fried Eggs ($30), though pricey, was great for sharing. The medium rare seared steak was complemented with fries and a crispy sunny side-up egg dressed with an aromatic mix of chili olive oil, chives and parsley. The beef was pretty succulent and well-seasoned too!
