Hajime is famous for their tonkatsu and ramen and currently they are celebrating their Kagoshima Kurobuta Tonkotsu Festival; which you could indulge with their premium Kurobuta dishes from Kagoshima, Japan.
Toji Kurobuta Loin is one worth getting because they introduced it for the first time and serve it 6 orders per day only, which is very limited quantity.
You could enjoy the juicy cut of Kurobuta tonkotsu served on sizzling tamago toji hot plate.
I love it so much that I got my rice refill (which is complimentary). Enjoying egg as well as the meat.
We went straight for the Pork Loin Set ($18.90) that came with free flow Niigata rice and crunchy cabbage. To enjoy tonkatsu like a pro, we first grind the roasted sesame seeds using the wooden pestle before mixing in with the tonkatsu sauce till it becomes a paste mixture. This sauce is best for dipping with the perfectly fried pork that is juicy and tender on its own. For the cabbage, we added a few drops of the wafu dressing for the nice tangy balance while the accompanying tonjiru soup is the tonkatsu broth that has a hint of yuzu in it.

3 pieces of well deep fried pork fillet; more tender & easier to chew than pork loin; but I prefer the pork loin; not dry & no pork stench; batter is thin, crispy & not oily; miso sauce at the side is rich in bean taste, towards salty side, complement the meat very well, together with the yellow mustard; with free flow fresh cabbage, free flow rice, watermelon, veggie side dish & miso soup; miso soup is surprisingly tasty with light yuzu taste & not salty, lots of ingredients (chopped carrot, radish, meat, etc) inside; with sesame seeds at the side..

Bringing over 25 years of experience to the kitchen, Chef Tan-San’s journey began after a stint in 🇯🇵, where he mastered the art of Tonkatsu and returned in 1993 to helm the kitchen of Tonkichi. In 2004, he took on the challenge of setting up Tampopo as the Pioneer Chef, and eventually famed for numerous creations. Finally in 2016, @hajime_tonkatsu_ramen is born, bringing us authentic Japanese cuisine in a modern setting and at affordable prices.

👉Premium Pork Loin Set - SGD22.90
Comes with a bowl of sesame seeds to be grounded before adding the standard tonkatsu sauce
👉Nagoya Miso Fillet Set - SGD19.90
Comes with a dish of thick miso sauce
Probably one of the best tonkatsu pork I’ve eaten in recent memory. Perfectly deep-fried, it was really crispy yet light and not too greasy. Honestly for the pork, I couldn’t really tell the difference between the two sets as they were both so so good. Fresh, succulent & toothsome! But of course if you like the fatty ends that keeps the cutlet juicy, go for their Premium Pork Loin. 😋👍
Special mention goes out to their Tonjiru Soup - Tonkotsu broth simmered with Japanese pork and a hint of Yuzu for over 12 hours. The free-flow cabbage served here was really crunchy and refreshing too!
❗️Tonkatsu Sets come with Free Flow Rice & Cabbage
‼️You might want to share a cup of hot green tea that’s refillable😉

Juicy Pork Katsu (add some tonkatsu sauce) with runny egg topped with shredded cabbage (best with the wafu sauce). Comes with tonjiru soup, pickled veg, and watermelon slices.
