The rice balls is served in a plate and is rolled into a huge tennis ball size ball. The texture is sticky and clumpy. I guess it has to be like this if not it's not gonna stay in shape! This is just chicken rice but rolled into a ball la. Does not amaze me at all .. coz i still prefer a normal plate of rice. 😅
Rice ball.

Half Steamed Chicken w 4 Chicken Rice Ball - $16
·
Maybe abit pricy for a half chicken but their chicken is smooth and tender, portion is huge too, especially their rice. Ordering 2 traditional chicken rice ball per pax is more than sufficient. It cost 50 cents per ball. But strangely the soup they gave is peanut soup instead of the usual chicken soup, so there’s slight disappointment. It’s been two decades since I last ate an chicken rice ball. It’s always great to see traditional cuisine carried down

Good Year Local Hainanese Chicken Rice Ball
Known to be one of the last two remaining chicken rice stall that would come with rice balls instead of a usual plate of fragrant rice, I returned to this stall after almost a decade because I missed the rice balls.
The biggest difference would probably be that the rice balls were more compact and less oily compared with the conventional fragrant rice. The rice might also be slightly harder, but that was okay for me especially when the chicken and condiments were on the oily side. Besides, that bowl of peanut soup helped to wash down the oiliness a fair bit.
For those who wish to try a different way of enjoying chicken rice, this hawker stall is the place to go. Most people will be satisfied with just two rice balls by the way. If you would ask me, I think the portions here are soundly above average too.
It's been a long time since I've had Chicken Rice Balls but they've always been a classic gem in my mind. Sought after because of how rare it is nowadays. I must admit I perhaps don't know how to appreciate this. The rice is fragrant and delicious, but because it's packed together like this, it becomes almost like glutinous chicken rice, and I think I prefer the texture of regular rice over this. The chicken is good as well but I'm a lazy Singaporean and I appreciate boneless chicken more 😅. The soup is really good if you like chicken feet and peanut soup. And it must be noted that you'll rarely find a chicken rice store serving chicken feet soup. This whole tray which is enough for two cost $12.
I wonder why all these stalls are so near my home. 😏😏 anyways, I ordered steamed white chicken drum stick and it comes with a soup. The balls are however too mushy for my likings. I also used New ways to edit this photo in photoshop. Let me know if it's better than my past photo. 😂 🙆🏻♂️🙆🏻♂️
