Eight Signatures Seafood Restaurant 八鲜过海

Fresh seafood, great sauce base, generous portion, and definitely very hearty, totally perfect for a big group to share and have a good meal with.
For $158++, you get a huge tray of 2 flower crab, gong gong, scallops with vermicelli,, lala, oyster season with minced garlic and chilli, medium sized prawns, crawfish, a small grouper. Definitely fit for 4-6pax, and will leave you full and wanting more. Each seafood is individually cooked (take the crawfish, cooked in mala before being placed into the tray), and placed on top of cabbage and it’s original soy sauce/broth.
Colourful as it is, the seafood is honestly crunchy and fresh. Definitely worth the trip down to Serangoon. What’s more once you’re done, you can cross the road, and have some durian mousse dessert at Dessert Bowl.

While missing the sometimes-ostentatious truffle aroma, this mild truffle flavor was a welcome change. The chicken, fried to a supernal crunch is juicy, well flavored and goes very well with their free-flow harbin beer promo that’s available till end Jan.

Newly opened at Serangoon Gardens and run by affable and chatty owners, I like how each seafood is individually prepared before being assembled together. You get conch, shrimp, flower crab, oysters, mussels, scallops with vermicelli, fried marbled goby and clams, and you even get eight different kinds of vegetables which really adds on another layer of sweetness to it.

The best thing is that you don’t even need to blow a hole in your pocket as the large one costs $258 for 10-12 people while a smaller one costs $138 and feeds 4-6 people.

They have a soy base one and a spicy version but personally i think the soy one goes way better, especially with rice.

And to make it a balanced meal there’s 8 vege inside! This can certainly feed 10-20 ppl at $258!! But of course if you have a smaller gathering of 4-8 ppl, you can go for the smaller one at $138. They get their seafood fresh from a multiple different sources DAILY! 😱😱😱 you can really taste the diff! .

Some of the side dishes you can order to complement your meal is the homemade silky egg tofu. It’s almost like eating tau huay w bean curd skin 🤤🤤 .

Another is the truffle chicken marinated with real truffle for that slight nutty flavour instead of it being overpowering from truffle oil / flavourings.

This serves 4 to 6 people. And if you want your prawns to be de-shelled, they have that service. Like removing clams from the shell and etc.

Steamed whelk, live prawns, flower crab, boiled Vietnam clams, garlic mussels, vermicelli steamed scallops, deep fried marbled goby, charcoal clams are complemented by an assortment of vegetables and seafood lovers is sure to find this irresistible.
