Pad Krapow

$3.80 · 15 Reviews

All dishes here are freshly made to order, with the wok hei game going strong. All the items in the menu are under $10, I'll definitely be back for more fresh and authentic Thai Food.

Took Lae Dee Originated from Thailand, and have been serving quality and affordable Thai food since 1972. Their outlets in Thailand open round the clock.

They currently have 2 outlets in Singapore and are located at Funan, Singapore and

Flavourful.

A little Too “dry”

Usually like my basil pork with some nice gravy to go with the rice

Their mango sticky rice is a must try, fresh mangos are served with sesame seeds sprinkled over the glutinous rice which complements the overall flavour. ⁣

Try out their tom yum seafood soup as well which is spicy, sour and yet refreshing at the same time! The pad krapow, morning glory and pad thai hor kai was not extraordinary but decent enough. ⁣

Finally making its way to Tai Seng since mid 2018, @tooklaedeesg is Bangkok’s most famous 24/7 restaurant chain. Did you know that Took Lae Dee means “cheap and good” in Thai?

Featured is the cheapest dish on their menu - Minced Basil Chicken or Pork with Chilli & Rice at $3.80. You can add a sunny-side up for $1.20.

Slightly disappointed with the egg as it was overcooked and not oozing with yellow goodness.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best of all, it’s just $3.80!

I don’t get how this is more expensive than their pad krapow. It’s underseasoned and only comes with a few tiny prawns. Slightly disappointing.

Finally somewhere in Singapore that serves cheap and good thai food in Singapore! The food here is cooked to order so you have to wait a while but it's worth the wait. Your food comes steaming hot to you! The pad krapow came with a strong hint of basil but did not overpower the dish and the saltiness of the meat blended nicely with the fluffy white rice. The runny yolk of the egg was a delight too! The green curry was also not as strong as expected but complemented the rice really well and the chicken meat within was flavourful and tender. A cheap and good thai fix overall! .

Can't wait to fly off to Bangkok next week for the real deal. Any suggestions on where to head to? ◡̈
