Ended our weekend night by driving down to Dabao Gelato and it's worth using the Burpple Deal.
The staff were very patient with us choosing the flavours and re payment mode (both of us usually go cashless nowadays).
We had to take the last cone available as it was already pretty late and the staff didnt charge us for it as there was some aesthetic defects in the cone. Really appreciate their integrity towards customer service.
Shop was small and cosy for a chillax night out too (and we finally understood why it was called Dabao Gelato as seats were limited).
Will definitely try again when we are in the area!
A super tiny shop sharing the same space with the bread shop beside. But here you could find some exciting ice cream flavours.
I gotten the popcorn butterscotch, which is creamy and tasty; topped with the sweet butterscotch.
Bedok has a huge number of ice cream cafes, and dabao gelato is one of the newcomers. With the #burpplebeyond, we got the 1 for 1 medium cup ($7.80), which consist of at most 4 scoops. We got the 70% chocolate, vanilla citrus twist, coconut lychee and Earl Grey Lavender. The 70% chocolate is good; thick, bold and has fragrant chocolate flavours. The vanilla citrus twist is definitely very aromatic, with a slight sour twang which makes it really pleasant! The coconut lychee is basically coconut ice cream, not so much lychee. The Earl Grey Lavender is really way too strong, sadly it taste like perfume or soap bars.
We got the waffles ($4.80) to add on, and they are on the thicker and fluffier side! Not much crispy!
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Pistachio was creamy in texture and had the right balance in flavour. Croffle was freshly made and had a butterly taste. I had previously tried their waffle which was equally as good, the croffle is great alternative if you are dropping by after a heavy meal :)
Attention, Easties! Hidden away in the heart of Bedok North is a new gelato stall going by the name of Dabao Gelato. Get your premium gelato pick-me-up from right within your neighbourhood. We especially love a good pistachio gelato, and Burppler Miss Ha~ seems to agree. “I must say I really enjoyed the pistachio gelato here. As what the partner pointed out, the pistachio flavour tasted quite natural, with a roasted aroma. In fact, for myself, there was a tinge of saltiness that complemented perfectly with the nuttiness. Creamy yet not jelak. Wise choice!”
Checked out the new gelato stall in Bedok north! Small shop with one high table with 2 chairs and a bench. And it had a makeshift divider with the neighbouring bakery shop.
With the burpplebeyond 1 for 1, you get to enjoy two cups for the price of 1! We opted for the small gelato cup ($4.20; one flavour only; Additional 60cents for premium flavours like pistachio). Picked the coconut lychee and yuzu gelato.
Was expecting a lighter lychee taste but ended up it was more like 80% coconut and 20% lychee. Was slightly too sweet for me. The yuzu gelato was slightly sour in comparison. Overall our choice of the two flavours complemented each other quite well.
Do check out this place if you are in the neighbourhood!
