Aesthetic-wise, it was nothing like what I’ve expected but fortunately, the crusty puff pastry was well-executed. Sadly, I was disappointed by the tough beef tenderloin encased in it. There is still room for improvement 😄
For dessert, we tried their Apple Pistachio Tart served with a scoop of Cookies and Cream Ice Cream ($9). It would have been better if we were given flavours to choose for the ice cream because somehow, cookies and cream did not complement the tart well. The tart too felt very dense. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊
We also ordered the Salmon Ravioli ($14) which was decent. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊
The Chicken Cordon Bleu ($15) has an affordable price tag but again, the portion was small. I liked the mashed potatoes and coleslaw—definitely helped ‘neutralise’ the overly salty chicken.
I’ve always wanted to try Commons at Tampines Hub so I felt pretty excited when I got the chance to eat here. We had the Mushroom and Chicken Pizza ($10) that had a nice crispy crust but had too little toppings... the pizza also took awhile to be served and we had already finished our other main courses before the pizza finally arrived.
Approximately 14 dollars (can't remember the exact price)
Simple salad with chicken, poached egg that always goes well with salad.
Cesar sauce is a little sour.
I'm not a Cesar salad lover but a Sesame salad lover. This is better if I have to replace it.
Give it a try if you don't have big appetite.
