Have you ever wondered if it’s possible to have a taste of fine dining food at affordable prices? At @brothersinfinefood, that is a reality! Known for their tasty brunch selections, you should definitely check out their Lunch&Dinner menu too! Their concept is simple: bring fine dining standard food accessible to the community (that’s why they’re situated at Tampines West community club!)😇 For desserts, we had the Nagasari ($8) which consists of steamed coconut flour, caramelised bananas, gula melaka foam, sauteed coconut shavings. I fell in love with the dish after that first bite—the coconut shavings truly accentuate the taste of this traditional-inspired dessert. Plus points: the service was impeccable with friendly and knowledgeable staff all ready to assist you😉 do note that waiting time for food can be awhile because they really want you to experience fine dining where people eat at a leisurely pace and that involves taking the time and effort to truly prepare your orders to perfection. Can’t wait to try their brunch soon! 😋
For dessert, we tried their Apple Pistachio Tart served with a scoop of Cookies and Cream Ice Cream ($9). It would have been better if we were given flavours to choose for the ice cream because somehow, cookies and cream did not complement the tart well. The tart too felt very dense. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊
Are you a fan of gelato? If you long for gelatos similar to those in Rome, head to @aromagelato.sg to get your fix! For $7.90, this Medio size cup comes with 3 GENEROUS scoops of Caramel Sea Salt, Chocolate, and Stracciatella (vanilla with strands of dark chocolate) that promise a delightful experience! Bonus: the owners are very friendly and nice too! 😊👍
I Am cafe is known for their Red Velvet/Rainbow Cake but the next time you’re here, try their Nutella Cheesecake Tart ($8.90+)! Anything with nutella is good and it truly was an amazing first bite! Do share with a few friends as it can get pretty overwhelming after awhile (as all cheesecakes tend to be).
If you’re tired of overly sweet drinks from Ramadan bazaars, you should get @limaa51hajilane’s Kurma(dates) Smoothie for iftar! This refreshing concoction hits all the right spots after a long day of fasting. Still, they could use less milk and more cashews, dates, and almonds as advertised because it was too milky. Priced at $7 each and 2 for $13, this smoothie leans towards the more pricey bazaar finds, but hey, healthy food is always expensive right? 😇
If you’re looking for a satisfying softserve ice cream treat, this Cendol soft serve ($6) is for you! Such a refreshing treat on a hot day and the toppings are everything —think crunchy coconut shavings and chewy jelly in every bite. Great for sharing!
Absolutely in love with this Hokey Pokey ice cream —perfect companion for a stroll on a sunny day!
Tasted astoundingly similar to those well-known gelatos in Rome, this quaint shop might just be my go-to place for a quick gelato fix in the city! Get the Medio size ($7.90 3 flavours, for premium add $0.50 per flavour) and their generous portions will leave you smiling and satisfied :) their bestsellers are: pistachio, caramel sea sat, and hazelnut!
At $16.80, the Smores Shibuya Lava Toast was worth it especially with the Cookies & Cream scoop of ice cream. The marshmallows were so decadently delightful too!
Double belgian waffles with 2 scoops of ice cream (salted caramel & strawberry cheesecake) ($18.90) is the foolproof decision for a nice dessert after a meal
Buttermilk egglet waffles with 1 scoop of horlicks ice cream & pocky toppings ($8.90) was the perfect pick-me-up to mark the end of the week! Very addictive ice cream but it would have been perfect if the waffles were slightly warmer.
Despite their simple presentation (no chocolate sauce for toppings), the Smores ice cream ($3.50/scoop) was divine, while their Butterscotch Waffles ($4.50) tasted merely decent
