Chulia Street Night Hawker Stalls need no introduction, and the char kway teow is famous. So much wok hei packed into that small plate of noodles, brimming with ingredients. โ โ €
The wanton noodles is also worth every calorie.โ โ €
As usual, be prepared to wait. But that gives you a chance to soak in the atmosphere and the smell coming from all the hawker stalls will whet the appetite. โ โ €
PS: It only opens from 6pm.

I realised that this stall [Koay Teow Thng (่‡ชๅˆถ่ฅฟๅˆ€้ฑผไธธ้ดจ่‚‰็ฒฟๆกๆฑค) RM 4.50] usually come later around 6.30 p.m. Kway Teow Noodle was quite smooth texture and handmade fishball was quite bouncy and smooth texture. I seldom saw duck meat being added inside the Kway Teow Soup and most of them put minced pork instead.

Lor Bak got a variety of different ingredients to be choose from before deep frying. It come with thick starch gravy sauce (cinnamon and soy sauce) and chili sauce to dip with.

Wanton Mee (RM 4.50 - Large Size) I felt Mee was soft and chewy taste but the wanton seems like to be too small and dry in my opinion. The waiting time for Wanton Mee took 15 to 30 minutes depends on the crowd itself.

P/s: we went back for dinner time (on last night of the trip) and my sister managed to get last bowl (RM 3.30 - Small Size) of the day and the leftover ingredients for last bowl were too much for her. She was very glad to get last bowl of the day before leaving Penang and it was so delicious for wanton mee.

Various Mix Fresh Fruit Juice (RM 5.00)
- Watermelon (less sugar)
- Buah Long Long (less sugar)

Hokkien Mee (RM4.00 to 4.50) included mixture of bee hoon & yellow noodles, sliced lean pork, prawn, bean sprouts and fried onions. (Add-on: chili sauce)

If you asked the locals for suggestion, they would tell you about this wanton mee located at chulia street. Make sure you come early so you donโ€™t have to wait for long.

Most people will definitely recommend you to try this at least once awhile. Their black sauce style of Wanton Noodle would never disappoint you so make sure you put this on your list whenever you visit George Town.

This stall (also known as Mother & Son Wantan Noodle) is located along Chulia Street Night Market and it's hard to miss it cos the surronding tables would all be eating their noodles. They do not add chili paste into the plate of noodles. Rather, they only provide sliced green chili with your noodles. The black sauce together with the springy egg noodles, 3 wantons, some slices of char siew and pork lard, taste oh-so-good! Sometimes, you just find pleasure in simple food like this! If you'd like, they have the soup version too (but we didn't try it).

Must try in Penang! It's so good that we ate it twice during our stay.

Cost: RM4.50/plate (Small), RM5.50/plate (Big)

Hawker food with my best friends, dressed to the nines and in ๐Ÿ‘  Moments like this are hard to come by with everyone so busy and being everywhere except Penang ๐Ÿ™

Stall located at the start / end of Chulia Street Stalls. Noodle texture is delicious! Must eat if you are craving for Penang Wanton Noodles (there is a massage shop just behind, 2-3 stalls away from wanton noodle stall)

If u ever visit this night market, dont miss it. Laksa, popiah, curry mee can be missed. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป3.5/5
โœ”๏ธ coming back for the wanton mee only. ๐Ÿ“Penang Chulia Street

Wanton Mee (5 RM) along Chulia Street, best that I had here. Have I convinced you that this is a must-go already?

Couldn't really decide what to have so we followed the queue & bought the largest one to share at RM4.50. Nothing different from Singapore's rendition. S said it's good but I think it's partly due to hunger. Blur picture because we were sharing table with judging strangers haha.

Supper of CKT. This is a random stall on the side road near the hotel. CKT lady said no tau geh already, not selling. We said we are ok with no TG. We are hungry. Haha....

Apom (RM 0.50 / PC) waiting time around 15 to 30 mins depends on the queue and it's really need to eat immediately after serving. But I was busy with showering, I didn't eat Apom straight away and it's really not soggy.

Char Kway Teow (RM 4.50)

this is one Wanton Mee that I can eat plates and plates of ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Absolutely loved the springy strands of noodles which were not alkaline at all and the texture was just ๐Ÿ’ฏ The vegetables were also fresh and wanton were filled with a generous amount of meat ๐Ÿ–. I ordered this at about 1745 (5.45p.m.) and shortly after the stall has a snaking queue! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
