More Reviews of good food at Chai Ho Satay & Dried Pork (Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre)

My favourite satay stall, have been eating this since forever. Have not been frequent this stall ever since I moved to punggol.

This satay is so good, u don't have to dip into the peanut sauce.

The queue for this stall can get ridiculously long at times.

- juicy and fragrant
- best buy at 45c per stick
- be prepared to wait as the queue is long

Chai Ho Satay continues to enjoy long lines, due to its affordable Pork and Chicken Satay, priced at 45cents per stick (minimum order of 10). Their meats are well marinated and infused with delicious, well balanced flavours. The popular Pork Satay comes with heavenly sweet layer of fat that added a nice crunch and light char.

I was slightly disappointed that the peanut sauce did not come with pineapple puree, but at least it was thick and luscious – not too oily too.

Delicious satays with a flavor profile that slightly resembles bak kwa (of which they also sell). I almost dabao-ed the peanut sauce to eat with bread for breakfast 😜😜

If you look into the stall, you'll see hundreds of sticks ready to be grilled. But don't be deceived, they fly off the shelf come meal time! Go early to avoid disappointment!

Seductively smoky and well charred, these fatty pieces of pork satays were very well marinated. Unfortunately the chicken were cold so they weren't as good. Peanut sauce was extremely fragrant, thick and chunky.

Always curious about Chai Ho's satay and bak kwa since there's always long queues especially during CNY. Both chicken and pork satays are available, well marinated and BBQ-ed over charcoal. Some sticks were charred though, while some had tiny pieces of meat, but well, what more to ask for at a cheap price of 42 cents per stick! They also sell the raw ones at 36 cents per stick.

But what really stood out is the peanut sauce. Each dip was nothing but full of chopped peanuts! Just couldn't stop eating the sauce even after finishing the satays. You could really taste the fragrant aroma of roasted peanuts in the sauce, without it being too oily or spicy. Don't think I have ever come across a stall with satay sauce like this! I was given a huge pack of sauce even when I only bought 10 sticks of satay. Btw, refills of sauce seemed to be allowed for customers eating there!

Also got some bak kwa ($38/kg). The sweetness of the honey glazed bak kwa reminded me of those I have eaten during my childhood days. Each slice was of reasonable thickness and tenderness, which was nice to chew without hurting my teeth!

Recalled braving the queue for this multiple occasions before booking into camp and they are possibly the cheapest yet one of the best few around. No doubt the prices have increased from 38c to 42c per piece recently this year, but their satay remains to be the one that I love with the right portion of lean:fat meat, deep marination and smoky BBQ flavours.

Cheap and Good Satay. It was my first tried out famous Chai Ho satay. Queue was non stop and be prepared welcomed with a long queue. Shiok with the delectable satay..πŸ‘πŸ‘ Not only the meat is tender and nice but also in love with the peanut sauce. I cant resist with the yummy sauce

At 38cents per stick, they are probably the cheapest satay seller in town! They do sell raw satay stick at 32cents too. If you are nearby Clementi, do check them out! @misstamchiak queued for the carrot cake at this hawker too, recently!

The cheapest so far at Clementi Market!

Well marinated meat and fatty meat included for burst of flavour and good chew. All for 38 cents per piece.

Intrigued by the perpetually Long queues for this satay , I finally had the chance to try .

Satay meat was grilled to perfection and lean and peanut sauce was very thick and aromatic .

However , I found both the satay and the sauce too sweet so the taste was pretty one dimensional . Almost so like they use the glaze for the bah Kwa on the satay. These were like honey satays 😊

I like my satays a little savoury and with a stronger spiced Marinate. For this the satays at Alexandra village Hawker does pretty cool job 😊

There was no queue at 8.30pm on a Sunday. Not much left so I got just 10 sticks. Have seen the crazy long queues before and now I know why. They were fabulous even without the peanut sauce. Superbly marinated with a bit of spiciness, I have to say that they are the best. I even got chased by 2 cockroaches eager to share my satay with me.

May 2017 be a blessed, healthy, fruitful and peaceful year ahead! πŸŽ‰

Biting into fried carrot cake that's so soft and yet crisy. Ordered both and preferred the white.
