The latest reviews from real people you can trust
As with any great Korean meal, we were treated to free-flow banchan, including garden salad, marinated mushrooms, and cucumber pickled in kimchi sauce. These sides added a nice balance to the rich main dishes, ensuring we left with full bellies.
A perfect side to complement any Korean dish, this Korean steamed egg was fluffy, savoury, and absolutely tastisfying. It was served piping hot, and I found myself hoo-haa-ing my way through every bite while enjoying the burst of flavour. Just be careful not to scrape the bottom or side too much, as the prolonged heat does leave a slight char, which could add a bit of a burnt taste.
This bowl of goodness is pure comfort. A whole young chicken simmered with ginseng and rice, all packed into a rich, steaming, and nourishing soup. The chicken was so tender that it literally disintegrated, bones and all, when we bit into it. The texture of the meat was smooth and chewy, while the broth was rich, thick, and full of natural chicken essence. The natural oils from the chicken added a tastisfying richness to the soup. At the bottom, soft rice made the dish surprisingly filling, but if you’re extra hungry, you can always add a bowl of White Rice (RM 5).
My friend had a serious craving for Samgye-tang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup), and we weren’t sure where to go. A quick Google search led us to Palsaik Korean BBQ at Mid Valley Southkey, Johor Bahru, and that’s how we ended up here!

Free Ice Cream after meal is the best!
To complement our meal, we decided to add the Steamed Egg (RM 8), which turned out to be a savoury and fluffy delight.
Just WOW. 15 banchan is alot. The most I ever seen.
As for the Kimchi stew, it provided a spicy kick and a heartwarming sensation.
We opted for Set E (RM 140), which included juicy pork belly, marinated rib eye, flavourful marinated chicken chop, and a comforting bowl of piping hot Kimchi stew. Alongside the set, they served an impressive variety of 15 free-flow banchan to satisfy your cravings. They even offered free-flow barley tea to quench your thirst.
The pork belly, marinated beef, and chicken were all incredibly succulent and flavourful. They were tender, easy to chew, and absolutely delicious. The marinated beef had a delightful sweetness that lingered on the palate, while the chicken had a unique kebab-like taste. The meats were expertly grilled over charcoal flames, and the attentive server gladly assisted us, though you can choose to cook your own if you prefer.
Delicious KBBQ with a mouthwatering array of banchan. 😋

As a delightful finishing touch, we were given the option to choose one potong ice cream to enjoy.

Seafood Pajeon RM25
Pajeon is a Korean pancake loaded with scallions, and here at Jang Won, they have one that is loaded with seafood, check out what Burppler halfeaten has to say
"Not a bad rendition of this Korean classic. The pancake comes with plenty of seafood and veggies, and a chili soy sauce on the side for dipping. Taste is good"

Korean BBQ Set RM170
"Operated by a Korean family which add on the level of authenticity.
Endless flow of sides. Well marinated meat and waiters were very skill with the grill. We ordered 4 serving of meat and one soju, which only costed us less than RM$170"
