Toast over here are served in two variations, wholemeal or white bread and here’s what I thought of each.

This wholemeal version is a great option if you’re seeking for a fiber-rich alternative. However, the wholemeal toast diminishes the crispiness as compared to the usual white toast. The kaya was generous and had a rich, fragrant sweetness that compliments the butter, adding a creamy richness that rounds out every bite.

In contrast, the white crispy peanut kaya butter toast unapologetically embraces its decadence. The white bread toasts up to a golden perfection, delivering a delightful crunch that resonates with every bite. This crispness forms the perfect canvas for the kaya and salted peanut combination, blending textures in a way that’s immensely satisfying.

While their mee siam scored well, this plate of mee rebus somehow lost much of its comforting appeal. The flavour profile seemed muted and the boldness that typically defines mee rebus wasn’t present. The gravy which should be the heart of this dish was far too watery and lacked the thick, rich consistency that typically makes mee rebus so comforting. A thicker and more flavourful gravy could have made it more memorable 》RM8.50

This Mee Siam with Rendang Chicken is a marriage of bold flavours and satisfying textures. The highlight of this dish is undeniably the rendang chicken. Tender and richly marinated, the chicken is coated in a thick, velvety sauce that exudes deep, aromatic notes of lemongrass, coconut, and slow-cooked spices. Each bite is a burst of umami and warmth that creates a perfect harmony of flavours. The sambal on the side is perfect for spice lovers looking to amplify the dish's flavours 》RM15.50

This dry version mee siam retains all the signature elements of classic mee siam but introduces a unique, less saucy approach. Topped with two slabs of otah, a perfectly fried egg with a runny yolk, wedge of lime for extra zest, and a side of sambal. The portion size is generous, making it a hearty breakfast that doesn’t compromise on flavour 》RM12.50

Housed in this cosy home setting, Sweet Blossom Coffee Roasters is well-known among the locals and Singaporean for their hand brew coffee.

They only serve drink here as their specialty and they are very serious with it. They sourced their coffee bean and introduced different sources around the world to share with everyone.

(RM 32.90) (Smoked Salmon) consisted of sous vide egg and English muffin. I felt that sous vide egg was quite cooked well tbh. Smoked salmon was quite fresh and also got no bad smell tbh.

Sangria Punch

(RM 20) it's fruit based tea but I felt that its not that bad tbh. Its quite sweet aftertaste for tea brew.

Breakfast Platter

(RM36.90) (Chicken Ham) consisted of scrambled egg, mixed mushroom, grilled tomato, chicken sausage, mixed bean & museli toast. I come for this breakfast set because I saw a lot of people ordered based on google review beside soft shell crab. I felt that it was quite filling for me. The scrambled egg was quite milky and creamy w a bit of pepper on top.

Walking past the famous banana cake shop in JB and you would also find another bakery just right beside it that usually full house on weekends.

Dona Bakehouse is an artisan bakery cafe, serving brunch menu if you able to dine-in here. Otherwise, you can grab some of their pastries back home like me.

Lost of pastries available on shelf display and I have chosen their Pistachio Rose Croissant & Vanilla Fran.

The Pistachio Rose Croissant is overwhelmed with the sweetness pistachio frangipanni and rose syrup in between, topped with crushed pistachio.

As for vanilla fran, it made with homemade pastry cream on croissant tart shell.

Right at the busy JB city centre, this place is kind of a perfect spot to get away from all the crowds around.

This place is very chill on weekend morning, which seats available on first and second floor. Grab your coffee fix here if you looking for a place to take a rest in between your JB trip.

Recently, I stayed at KSL Hotel & Resort, with breakfast included in the 1-night stay package for RM 238. If you're not staying at the hotel, you can still enjoy their breakfast for RM 65 per adult and RM 33 per child.

The breakfast spread was extensive, offering endless choices across a variety of international cuisines, including Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Western dishes. They even had live stations serving Nasi Lemak, Mee Soto, Chicken Noodles, and an Eggs Station. There were also salad, fruits, and desserts available, though I found the desserts a bit heavy for the morning.

One feature that particularly caught my attention was their charcoal toasting. Instead of using a regular toaster, you have the option to toast your bread over a charcoal stove, which gives the bread a crispy texture and a smoky fragrance. The Roti Bakar, smeared with coconut jam and butter, paired with two soft-boiled eggs, was the highlight of the whole buffet. Truly, nothing beats a classic toast and eggs.

The breakfast area was spacious and could handle a large crowd. The service was decent, with plates being cleared promptly when needed. Overall, while most of the food didn’t particularly stand out, the toast and eggs were exceptional.

The wait is long even after you are seated. Understaffed (that day), even water took a long time to come

Quite crispy if a tad dry and with too much bite, but overall it's decent enough

A very popular place, esp w singaporeans, the Aircon makes people sit V long and so the queue moves extremely slowly. Even on a weekday morning we queued for 15-20mins

Food:
The cheese was a homogeneous slightly clumpy texture, crabstick strips filling tasted like fish balls.

Overall decent enough execution, it's not nearly as bad as I expected
