I had good memories of this stall so I returned to make new memories. It's really an ordinary stall but there's something gritty about it.
Chee Wei Vegetarian has a few outlets and one located at Potong Pasir under Broadway Food Court.
Unlike the rest, this stall only served a limited dishes and most people would come here for their vegetarian bak chor mee.
Replacing the minced meat with Omni meat, together with stew mushroom and crispy slice. The taste is still pretty similar with chili and black vinegar sauce mixing.
Not a bad bowl at all, but the pork ribs were more impressive. They got this issue with their salted fish tho, it's one massive piece. PSA Please rmb to break it up into smaller pieces before mixing, else you randomly get one mouthful of salt
Their soup isnt great, but it's unique. There's a very strong heat at the back of the throat but no bite on your tongue. There's a sweetness underlying everything as well. But importantly the pig tail was done masterfully, so damn tender and the garlic was melt in the mouth as well
They had some other veggies normally which isn't available now. Quite overpriced for the tiny portion and I tot the gloopy sauce is sad but it's actually pretty complex, with hints of dates and honey.
Delicious. Their pork ribs is one of the best I've had in this style, tender with a good marinade. Rice was not bad, it's crispy and turns hard after a while, but it's actually burnt tho so don't scrape the bottom so hard
